Players say all kinds of things and i don't know what is right. I don't care about who is right or wrong.
All i want is clarity.
All i know is that i achieve good results with them, but the majority of players don't really believe me.
They plain and simply prefer loading up with smaller energy weapons or SRM.
I've heard it has the same chance of making a critical hit as other weapons, but does 7x damage when it crits internals.
Some say the Targeting Computer affects the MG while others say it doesn't.
Another opinion is this.

TCs do not add to MGs; they only add to the 1x crit multiplier.
MGs get a 9x crit damage multiplier; 0.08 damage to 0.72 critical damage (different to damage), to a random location.
That's with a CoF.
MGs have a flat 52% crit chance, to 42% of other weapons (and that increases to 49.25% with a TC1).

I think someone at PGI should take the time to explain this to us so we get an official rundown of the stats of the MG.
Doing the same with the Targeting Computer regarding what weapons it actually affects and what it doesn't would be a big bonus too since many are confused about it.
You could even add critical hit chance and critical hit damage multiplier stats on all the weapons into the next version of the mechlab.
While we're on the subject of MG's.
How about a critical chance or critical damage multiplier module for MGs since firerate module seems like it won't be added?
