Just thinking it would be an option to be able to choose a new mech and choose to configure it before paying,
Choosing a mech allows you to configure, once you've chosen the build you want you can then pay the amended total in either cbills or even MC's (should be able to calculate the MC cost from cbills amount).
Saves buying the base mech then starting to customise. Disadvantage would be it doesn't use owned components, you'd be buying all new.

In theory that would save money, but Lore wise, mechs are sold as configured and mods happen afterwards. It's annoying, but it's one of the reasons IS mechs are cheaper, because they need extra configuration.
