What is the game plan for a new player experience?
I would like to see something along the lines of the player creates his/her character. Who we kidding, we are all guys. Then they select a house, one the major factions, and begin their mech training.
Run them through some missions with their Faction Unit, and then give them an opportunity to stay with their house, or go merc ( aka player merc corporations)
What do you think?

Learn by Fire
Step 1: Get shot till learn to take cover or shoot back.... or die
Step 2: Get sick of watching as an observer so learn to survive longer but learn from other people's mistakes
Step 3: ???????
Step 4: Win as a seasoned Mechwarrior

I strongly believe that they should create a small mission system before you choose your faction, of have at you. Such as a training mission system. Like you have to take pilot lessons on how to control your mech, How to shoot, and ectra. I sorry to do this to you all, but I must, I would like to see a training mission(s) like how they set it up in Mechwarrior 4 Mercs. That was one very innovating thing as it felt like you were actually put into a story, your character didn't just automatically have all forbidding knowledge of mech controls, From my memory he kinda did, but still, it still shows that in the mech universe that people aren't born with the knowledge to pilot a mech, but actually need to train and get license for them.

I have also given this some thought. This is what I came up with. http://mwomercs.com/...77-mentor-ship/
In short it is a mentor-ship for the new players. Players that have the time could help train the new ppl. With the mechlab, combat and tactics. Give it a read if you have the time
.
If anyone wants a mentor I will be glad to step up and give you a hand
. My contact info is in my profile.

They have said they would like to have a PvE training/mission type of thing, but it won't be available at launch. Sometime down the road though...

I'm fairly certain that the training will get added later on that will allow new players to at least feel comfortable with the controls and fight style.

Nah, think of it like EVE versus WoT. EVE has an insanely high learning curve, but allows the players to run through a fairly decent trainer program in the beginning. WoT just throws the player into battles, but has a low level learning curve. I'm assuming that MWO will be in the middle, doesn't have near the complex nature of EVE, but is more involved than WoT, so a simple trainer program would be useful. A simple trainer that allows you to get used to the controls, a decent-level background to your House/the universe in general, and maybe a low-level arena-style match for newbs would be really good.

like how halo had that thing were people with low ratings were matched to gether and as soon as you got out of that range you could go to normal games so that way expeirenced gamers would blow through the noobs ( i dont mean tat offensivly) and get on with the game and then the noobs would be able to fight each other and gain the concept of the game
