Ok, so I was just reading Bishop's post about the GHR. Remembered something I wanted to ask about.

I've noticed this on many JJ capable chassis though it was REALLY pronounced in my GHR Saturday night.

There seems to be a "sweet spot" where when I let off my thrust, it's almost like I'm in an anti-gravity bubble for another second or two where I keep going up. It really feels like JJ were before the nerf. Nice and smooth like butter.

Anyone else experience this? Could this be remnants of the old code, not deleted (because clean code is OP), but commented out with something sticking around via code reference or something?

I haven't quite got that sweet spot down yet, like hitting the turbo launch on Mario Kart 1, it takes finesse. Seems to be different depending on chassis (weight class?) too.

Thoughts?

Pass the Bong dude. It appears you have had enough for one day. ;) j/k

Have you tested JJ numbers? Perhaps it is the number installed that grants this feeling of blissful Nervana.

I haven't been experiencing this at all.

My Mechs drop like rocks as soon as I cut the power to my JJs.

It doesn't happen often, still playing with that. My GHR had the maximum JJs for the variant (4 I think).

JJs suck, but I too smoke enough herb to enjoy them occasionally. In the PUG Queue.

JJ's, the "take one when I can take 6, because, 6xjj= 2x effectivness over one." Okay, slight exaggeration, but not by much ^_^

And I am pretty sure this isn't supposed to happen, I just can't quite nail down if it's map related or situational.... Still investigating.

I have found my Quickdraws often have some upward thrust still once I let go of the spacebar... only really noticable if I have say 4 + JJs. Especially noticable if I put 6 or 7 on the 4G :D

I -think- I have experienced what the OP is describing. Not on a frequent or reliable basis, but I think I have felt it.

...Now I want to do some testing. :P

I've noticed this quite a bit myself. It seems to kick in once you've hit max acceleration for the burn; you get that little bit of inertia that helps you get over certain humps. Never noticed it on anything that didn't have max or near-max jets, though; a TBR configuration I've experimented with recently has only one S side torso and it blows every inch of the goats you'd expect a two-jet 75-tonner to, but my 6-jet GHR gets that floaty helpfulness almost predictably.

I hear that you can leave the atmosphere altogether if you do a full jump in the mist lynx.

The 12 JJ Spider used to be like that.

How jumpjets should work. Also take a look at those huge maps. Yes they are bland and have not much of structures in them but if they'd start producing maps like these with some nice Structures and spots to it they would work 10 times better then the current maps every day of the week.

I can say I've felt it on occasion but only when piloting a light mech. And no matter what mech I play I get sucked back to the ground like we're all walking on electromagnets. If they want to make JJs feel better they need to fix gravity first.

This is why you take just one jet and run fast tapping.

Think of yourself like a jet ski or wave runner or whatever you call them in your homeland.

Hehehe, I'm sure, but alas, I'm not. I'm in Colorado actually, kinda annoyed that my ping is never below ~105....
