Thinking about taking advantage of this sale and get a hero mech for that extra C-Bill earning.

I have Cent AL / AH and wondering if YLW would count as one of the three variants for pilot skill purposes?

If not, should I just get Ilya, or is there other recommendable candidates?

It will count to mastering the Centurian mechs and Yenlo is a good mech according to all who play Cents (not me)

the Yen Lo will count for mastering and is not a bad Mech, also the 30% cbill boost will be a huge help.

Its major downside is when you loose the AC20 arm you have very little firepower left, if you put in a standard engine it is very durable (like all Standard engine Cents)

as for what does and does not count, the variants with a letter in brackets behind its variant is counted as the same as a standard variant with no brackets , so anything with an (C), (F), (G), (I), (L), (P), ® or (S) at the end of the model number count as the same variant as the standard version but as heroes all have a unique variant designation they count as there own model

Thanks for the replies, guys.
How would you rate YLW amongst the Hero Mechs (esp. ones on sale right now)? One of the stronger ones?

Out of the sale mechs definitely one of the better ones and one of the better heroes all up.

Only other hero on sale i would get other than the Yenlo would be the Oxide.
Some like the Ilya (low slung arms though) & X5 or TDK for light mechs.

my opinion is that the Illya is the best of the heroes currently on sale, as someone who usualy prefers fast Light Mechs I rate the Yen Lo Wang as the second best Mech in this sale, with the X5 in third.

The FS9-E is my all time favorite Hero Mech, unfortunately it is not in the sale this week

Ilya is amazing.. For this sale I've purchased the Yenlow, the Ilya and the X5. All are pretty good. So far I am enjoying the Cicada platform for the most, but that Ilya is an amazing platform.

Centurion pilots swear up and down that the Cents are good. Maybe I'm just terribad, but I remain unconvinced. I like the Yen-Lo-Wang, but I feel as if it has a bit of a learning curve or only comes into it's own once you are pretty deep into the CN9 mastery. On its own it feels a little weak. The X5 and the Ilya for instance are strong right out of the gates.

Both screenshots are my first time with the X5 and Ilya. I wouldn't even consider myself a halfway decent player, but these two are fun and effective. I havent bothered taking a screenshot with my Yen Lo Wang. Not that the platform isn't good, just that I can't seem to use it appropriately.
