Having not decided on the Wang yet, I broke out the only one of these I own, the Pretty Baby, when I am not running Zeus or the 4th Kit Fox. Yeah, people want to laugh now except here's the ranks of participating Heroes based on top scores.

#1 - Ilya
#2 - tie, Metal, X-5 & Wang
#5 - tie, Oxide & Pretty Baby
#7 - tie, Fang & Flame
#9 - Death's Knell

Want to know why some of these Heroes are bad?

No Weapons pass.
I do not think any but the Phracts and Highlanders got a weapons pass using the new meshes. Thus a number of them with Missile ports have limits on number of tubes that affects their builds.

I admit though I am surprised the PB is in the mid range of these.

still can't decide whether to want or dread a weapons pass on the Awesomes. On the one hand, I want double barrel weapons arms, etc... on the other......

different set of heroes each week, apparently. My guess? Intentionally limited so they can get heavy data sets off each one, instead of very diluted sets with some mechs, like Pretty Baby getting next to none at all. You can bet this is going to affect the next set of Quirks revisions.

I'm so bad on my Pretty Baby and Wang that I only got 50-150k per match then I hop on my Grid Iron, go 6/2 and earn 312k. Then I go like 800+ damage on my ON1-chan Orion without using arty and get another huge load of cash.

fortunately, only like 2-3 of the 15 Fang pilots out there are doing good, so you are probably safe.

Saw a Fang and a Flame fight side by side in the same match yesterday. It was glorious and they died most spectacularly.

I agree but there is a flipside.

All those horrible limited Awesome Missile ports.
8R with only 30 tubes total.
PB limited to 4 on the arm while allowing 2 launchers there.
8V stuck with 15 tubes in a torso that can pack 45.
8T, I think only has one side?
With PPCs, you never know, while they are huge on some Mechs that got a pass, they are small on others.

About 80% Wins...... and we actually have had a LOT of close matches. Some stomps, but I'd say in more than half the loser accounted for at least 6 mechs.

So looks like I'm riding the Murdermetz till further notice. Simple and Brutal model I whipped up for the event. Won't win it, but It made me enjoy using Ilya again.

I had the same luck in my wang, loss after loss after loss. and terrible ones at that. I did 68 dmg in one before i got cored by 2 Ilyas and a wang on the other team.

So i tried oxide, same luck. TDK? maybe? I dont have and Ilya or a Heavy Metal....But i do have MC maybe I should buy a Fang!

Yeah, I think the Elo YoYo just caught up on my Ilya, last 2 matches wee a slaughter. *sigh* It's these dang streaks that makes these tournaments a lot less fun. Well that and the idiot behavior they inevitably spawn (well, more idiotic). Maybe if I grit thru a few more YLW matches the MM will flip to the "hold my hand" side of the Elo YoYo.

I'll warn you now the Fang isn't for the feint of heart. A LOT of things you take for granted in other mechs, like survivability and Sheer Firepower aren't there in the Fang.

You better be damn good at shot placement if you pick one up, and be very acquainted with the pace, and flow of battle. DRG will make you a better pilot, if you haven't ever used one before.

Sounds like life as a Medium Mech jock,in general, lol! And how I describe the YLW in particular..... either you live long enough to become a precision weapon, or die enough to give up and move onto something that requires less situational awareness.

The funny thing is how terrible I am at mediums. I keep expecting better than DRG speed I guess and not finding it with any kind of firepower.

Isn't the speed (heck my HBK-4G is slower than most DRGs, lol). To me it's that the DRG feel about as agile as a dump truck, compared to my Mediums, which allows me to react a lot faster, and not having a Meck Truck hood of a CT to draw fire, in most cases.

Most of my mediums aren't as fast as my Flame.....

Off the top of my head the Cicadas, and maybe one blackjack.


Which gets me killed moving up to attack speed to realize the rest of the team holed up to fire LRMs at my target.

I am used to the agility or lack of from the DRG. the TDR is my other mech...and the DRG is a ballerina compared to them
