So I'm not sure if I'm getting everything I can out of my setup so I can use some advice from my fellow mechwarriors who are more computer savvy.

Dell Inspiron 5721
Intel Coe i7-3537U @2.00GHz 2.5GHz
8.0 GB DDR 3 Ram
AMD Radeon 8500/8700M
Windows 8.1 64bit

So I have steady ping of 120 and frame rate of 25-35 fps with medium graphics setting. My internet speed is about 55mb/sec down and 5mb/sec up. My power settings are maxed and the game runs on the Radeon GPU with the switchable graphics card settings. All my drivers are up to date. There seems to be no difference between the Intel GPU and the AMD GPU.

I feel like I should be getting higher FPS on medium graphics. I notice in task manager the game only seems to use about 40-50% of available RAM.

Is there a way I can get higher FPS or am I at this computers limit already?

Oh, boy.

So: Intel says you have a dual-core with Hyperthreading; I believe you handle that by "ignoring" HT, which makes you "just" a dual here (you grab the first and the second blocks of text.)

How do you get "z"?

You GPU description basically bombed out in Google, but really, all I want to hear is how much VRAM it has.

'Cause you're a laptop, Throttlestop is important to you.

I strongly suspect a frameratle limit of 42 is the most you can hope for, but you need to test even that …

Good luck, and keep in touch.

thanks goose. While I didn't completely understand what you were recommending it did prompt me to google hyperthreading and I discovered I can prioritize my memory allocaton. That got me to about 42 on low settings with a noticeable smoothing out of gameplay. Thanks again

I play on a MacBookPro 9,1 with a i7-3720QM CPU @ 2.60 GHz,
a 650m GPU with 1 GB GDDR5, 8 GB RAM and 64-bit Win 8.1 pro.
My framerate seems to be limited by the hardware to a maximum of 60 FPS.

Longshot0`s Dell Inspiron 5721 should have 384 CUDA-cores too, but with 650 MHz cores and 2 GHz memory.

Will this prioritizing of memory allocation help me to increase my framerate with higher settings to the maximum of 60 FPS too on my QUAD core ?

Er: The second link was about stuff to put into your user.cfg, a text file located in "C:\Users\Goose\Saved Games\MechWarrior Online" "D:\GAMES\Piranha\MechWarrior Online\user.cfg" for example …

The image was to illustrate the obscure process mentioned in the link about user.cfg …

Feel free to bump the framerate limit up to 58, 60, or 62, if things are going well.

Longshot0, I think it would help to have more detailed Specs, maybe go here: http://www.dell.com/...1/configuration
and follow the instruction to get Configuration Details, another option would be to get this: https://www.piriform.com/speccy
and post what it says. it sounds like your not 100% Sure what GPU You have and I tried to look it up but couldn't find any concrete information, all I know is that there are different Configurations, Like according to this: http://www.notebookc...ok.88735.0.html

The Inspiron 17R-5721 is equipped with a Core i5-3317U (1.7 GHz). This 17 watts processor (TDP, ultra-low voltage) is the only choice for the configuration with the dedicated Radeon HD 8730M and HD Graphics 4000 (switching via AMD Enduro). Two other versions without Radeon can be ordered with a Core i3 and i5 (only HD 4000) for a lower price.
8192 MB memory (dual channel, 2x 4GB) and a 750 GB HDD complement our package.

Don't Mention it having the i7-3537U, and I'd guess by you saying it got a Radeon HD 8500/8700M that it would have the 8730M, but there's no way to be 100% Sure until you check and post the results.

@ Brother MEX: the Dell Inspiron 5721 should have no CUDA Cores as IIRC Those are Limited to Nvidia GPUs and considering it got no Nvidia GPU, then it would have 0 CUDA Cores.
