What if we took the short range for the lrms and made it just a little past where the srms stop and in return give the lrms a boost in speed and range. This would give the lrms the long range and speed that they need while keeping them from being overpowered. It also lets them be used more effectively as an indirect support.

A long time ago, several builds ago, they make LRMs travel faster and do more damage. It was horrible.

Really the biggest enemy of LRMs right now is the fact that ECM is overpowered compared to it's Tabletop cousin.

People shoot down UAV's, TAG is difficult to keep on fast moving mechs or jumbles. Probes you have to be very close. And don't forget the ever popular Radar Deprivation Module.

Plus there are so many readily available ECM mechs now. It's not just a Spider, a Commando, and an Atlas.

If you catch people without ECM and cooridnate, they can still be a deciding weapon.

LRM's don't need a nerf, ECM does if anything. ECM needs a more scaleable effect, instead of the all or nothing it currently provides.

Never said nerf or more damage just a retooling of range and speed. I agree that emc needs a nerf. should only affect the lance you're in not the whole team. "But Eightbit everyone will just take EMC mechs!" uh no. That's just dumb why would anyone limit themselves to just those mechs? That or make it so tag cuts through all emc and stop this stacking crud.

in my opinion ecm should be more like : the more mechs an active ecm does have to shild - the smaller the radius of protection becomes (2 mechs no effect , 3 mechs half radius , 4 mechs 1/4 of radius ,5 mechs only 20m...)

In this way the ecm carrier stays protected but it makes it a lot harder for others to be under the umberealla of ecm protection.

And like taglaser: ECMdo not stack- or even worse they could give intefernces - seen on the rader just like the Motion sensors do...

I'd vote for making LRMs incapable of shooting in-directly without TAG/NARC and be MOSTLY a direct fire weapon (like it is in TT) by buffing it's lock-on time, missile speed and spread on the larger launchers (no reason LRM5s should have tighter spread than Artemis Enchanced bigger launchers)

Then we could fix ECM.

**** UAVs though. They shouldn't allow locking-on. Just an information tool!

Lets leave LRMs alone. They have been tweeked, nerfed, buffed, smashed, etc.
