We're getting 2 more ecm mechs.

To counter it, all mechs can mount the Probe. You can expect that relationship to never be touched again.

No, really, I mean it this time.

Arctic Cheetah and Shadow Cat in July.

What PGI needs to do is rework ECM and all other electronic warfare kit into a system of soft counters. What is a soft counter? Something that mitigates another thing, making it work less well instead of outright stopping it. Here is my initial proposal:
ECM - 180m radius. +100% lock-on times against friendlies inside that radius. -50% tracking ability for guided weapons (they have only half the agility, so moving to avoid missiles is more successful even with locks). +100% target information gathering time. Reduces NARC broadcast range to 500m if the beacon is on a friendly mech inside the radius.
TAG - 750m range. -25% lock-on times, +25% tracking ability. All friendly lock-on weapons benefit.
NARC - Broadcasts regardless of LoS. Expires after 60s. Puts an indicator on your HUD when you have an active one on you. -50% lock-on times, +50% tracking ability. All friendly lock-on weapons benefit.
Artemis iV - LoS only. -75% lock-on times, +75% tracking ability. Only affects the launchers its attached to - no sharing bonuses with friendlies.
BAP - 120m radius. Allows for LoS detection of powered-down mechs. Inside 60m, allows for LoS-free detection of all mechs, powered or unpowered.
Command Console - Marks your current target with a symbol for easy focusing. -75% target information gathering time. +25% effective vision range for Heat and Night Vision modes. +50% radius for BAP and ECM.
These would be a good start toward fixing electronic warfare, though added functionality like active/passive sensors, different base detection ranges based on weight class and profile, etc., would really be needed to make it truly amazing.

I beg to disagree. I like hard counters. They're guaranteed to give "Oh sh*t!" moments when you least expect them.

Well they should at least make it how its supposed to be; not a combination of null sig (without the downside), and clan ECM etc

Firing a PPC at the offending ECM mech is not a hard counter and it's one that many a mech pilot already carries.
Perhaps TAG should be made to have a full 1500 M range, extending its usefulness to being anti-ECM at full LRM range?

1. OMNIPOD ECM affects a single mech only
2. BAP counters ALL ecm-omni pods in range, not just 1 ECM.
3. OMNIPOD ECM is twice the cost of Radar Derp.
4. IF OMNIPOD ECM is countered by a BAP and moves out of range the OMNIPOD ECM takes 3 seconds to turn back on.
5. LRMs can be flat-fired like SRMs if shot without a target lock.
