OH ! <_<
I just saw the "New" Mechlab introduction from Phil.

Well he's is so excited to sell it to us buuuuuut

still there are some issues
1. to many clicks to select a mech
2. the camo change is still this crappy selector at the buttom left
And a lot of other things that the community suggested to improve it are missing.

The only good thing is the loadout selection, weapons, ammo and stuff but thats about the only thing.

PGI please keep one thing in mind:

LESS MOUSECLICKS ARE GOOOOOOD!

MORE MOUSECLICKS ARE BAAAAAD!

one has to click to damn much to select a mech and configure it

New UI
1. click on "select mech"
2. go thru all the collums and find the mech
3. click to open pulldown menu
4. click on the favoured mech
5. click "save"

UI 2.0
1, click on "Mechlab" and see all your mechs
2. search for your Mech
3. click "Configure"

The only thing what you needed to do was, giving the mechlab some buttons to choose between IS and Clan or both. Thats all!

Good way to show the modules but still to many clicks to just see it.

Just had to add small icons on the MechIcons for the modules like the XP x2 you just had to add the small Icons o the modules on the other side.

I don#t know, ther soooo many good and logical suggestions for so many parts in MWO comming from the community.
WHY IS PGI NOT LISTENING?

They wil kill their own creation if they continue with these kind of things.

The new Mechlab is again to complicated to use.

I have the feeling the programmers have no expirience in creating User interfaces.

They have just changed the loadout screen and deleted the comfortable way to select your mech.

Its just like they are working strictly against us players.

So you know what they've changed with it since it was last on test server?

And whats the point of starting a whine thread before something is even released on the server other than trying to pre-preemptively tank your credibility.

Stop equating not seeing community suggestions with not listening. Because that's ********. Just because the community suggests it doesn't mean they have the production bandwidth or personnel to accomplish it. You know, they're still limited by things like sprints, deadlines, and manpower.

Software development is a delicate balancing act of resources and priorities.

Really effin' sick of seeing people equate not seeing items on their wish list with lazy or deaf developers.

The mech selection sounds like more of a chore for sure.

Still, one issue pops up when several are addressed and corrected. Overall, the new UI seems like a good addition to the game.

Besides, it will launch really soon. We can make a constructive feedback thread when it does. This complaint can be the first one.

Slowly the bittervet enclave will claim another... huehuehue... Join the party sir, if you played in CB, you still blissfully remember amazing features from 3 years ago that PGI broke, shuffled under a rug, and refuse to address. Since this comes as a surprise to you, I assume you aren't quite that long in tooth, and warn you to set your expectations on the floor, so that you are not disappointed.

I'll wait until I can experiment with it a little bit before I form an opinion.

Change is good. It gives the usual "Whiners" something to keep focused on and also provides the "Drama Queens" a reason to get all gussied up again...

It is like a brand new episode of "The Days of our Lives". ;)

Seriously though almond, we disagree on everything, but you came here and accused everyone of getting needlessly upset without addressing any of their very clearly stated concerns. I don't want you to respond to me, but you have no right to be dismissive of everyone else's concerns without addressing their specific points. Well, you have the right I guess, but it's kind of arrogant.

Ignore him he left his torch and pitchfork over at Star Citizen where they both became nigh useless due to neglect.

I know that software development is not easy but if your product is not ready you should not release it.

As stated by Russ, this change was only ever an update to the Mechlab itself, not Mech Select. They will be changing and rolling out Mech Selector in the future. Many of us hate the old mechlab, looking at dozens of invalid or unused mechs on a wall of thumbnails that can't be sorted or prioritized. It sucks.

Admittedly, the text scroll wall that they have for editing drop decks or swapping mechs in a private match sucks, too.

Either way, when they actually make a new mech selector, if you don't like it, then grab your pitchforks. This was never in the scope of the mechlab redesign. Maybe play it for, I dunno, a single minute before you lose your minds.

I've just fiddled around with it and I'm not impressed. I like that it's faster than before but it's still overcomplicated. Like others have said, too many clicks to do basic tasks.

I quite liked seeing all my mechs arrayed in front of me in the previous UI iteration, and they've gotten rid of that..

Edit: ok I just found the 'expanded' layout... WHY ISN'T IT LIKE THIS BY DEFAULT?

Great job PGI. Keep it up.

It was much easier to figure it out compared to the UI 2.0 mechlab. Feels like less clicks.

Strip mech button was a bit hard to see in the corner area, but I like the clean look. Maybe brighten up the buttons a little bit? I think just some minor shading so the header areas are a different shade than the data areas.

I miss the old mech select screen, it would be nice if we could toggle between old and new methods for selecting mechs so we can see our whole garage.

Overall I like it and I think its a great improvement.
