I was wondering if there was going to be a Loyalty Reward mech released with wave 3? like they did with the Mad Dog with wave 2.

They could give those players that emblem on paintjobs. It wouldn't be much work to add it to existing (clan) paintjobs and add as a new option.

That would require them to create a high number of duplicate texture files.

i'd say we should see when the decals system is introduced for that kind of things.

If anything I'd say they would be more likely to include a free bonus mech as part of a Clan Wave 4.

Something like the Phantom, Pouncer or the Linebacker come to mind first. The Dragonfly/Viper is the only other 3050 Omnimech we don't have at the moment, not counting the Firemoth because that breaks the game/hit-reg.

I do believe the Viper would have been a sweet choice, the Firemoth would be nice even if it was MASC substituted with armor / structure would be no faster than a Commando w/o MASC.

The Mist Lynx misses his evil little brother the Firemoth. See the Mist lynx attacks the rear of the NASCAR circuit causing a destraction that take away the targeted mechs ability to realize his back armor is gone from the Firemoth attack. TRO role and application for his mech.

The Blood Kite isn't an omnimech......


If we were to get a mech, I would demand the Viper, because why wouldn't I want a Nova that is as fast as an Ice Ferret and jumps like a Spider?

This would be fantastic but Russ said something shiny so it might be a exclusive badge or a new paint job, say only for the (I) variants.

Blood Kite is also bad, because its too slow. Clan mechs all have exact hex movement from TT because we cant change engine sizes, and the speed choices are (with tweak):

53kph (3 hexes)
71kph (4 hexes)
89kph (5 hexes)
106kph (6 hexes)
124kph (7 hexes)
142kph (8 hexes)

We already have a mech that sports a metric craptop of firepower and moves at 53kph, any other mech moving at 53kph is a complete waste of time really (other than MAYBE the Turkina), because if you're gonna go that slow, drive a Dire.

FTFY, not all Clan mechs are Omnimechs thus this mech wouldn't be subject to Omnimech construction rules like the inability to change engine sizes. Granted it would still be bad but speed would not be the reason.

PGI are not going to give us fully customisable Clan battlemechs. Its a balance nightmare because the locked engine choices are a large part of the tech balance, and fully customisable engines in Clan Battlemechs would.. obsolete all the omnimechs.

Which is why we will never see a Clan battlemech like the IICs, since they don't have the option to play Mr Potatohead.
