In my small 4-6 person group, I seem to be coming up against fewer 12-mans.

I'm winning as many matches as I'm losing, and fewer of them end in lopsided stomps. The battles themselves are interesting, too.

Earnings continue to be a concern. But by taking only Hero Mechs, I've been able to inflate my CW CBill earnings closer to parity with the PUG queue. (It does trouble me though to have to take sub-optimal Mechs vs a more optimized drop deck.)

Anyway, just thought I'd cast out this isolated view into the general sea of negativity.

If you ever start having too much fun you should drop solo as a clanner. That will surely grind your joy down to a cold little discarded hunk of space debris. Then, if you decide to repeatedly punish yourself you will have that ONE match that wasn't a complete circus. When your team fought as one and the honorable enemy was beaten back! Then!..... then you may start to enjoy it again.....maybe.

Yer maybe try as solo clan. Wins are few and far between when it is just Pug/Disconnect vs Premade day in, day out. Not even hero mechs for c-bill comfort.

It does lead to some comical moments though. Played one game and 8 people dropped with the trial Maddog prime at the same time. IS light ran through the middle of them and they all shut down. lol... In another game there was a full on conversation between several players about how they couldn't take mechs they owned into a CW game. Apparently they are forced to use trials as clan because their Thunderbolts don't show up in the select menu. Face palm... :)

On the positive side at least you can find games quickly and I hope that doesn't change when all of the Merc units do the inevitable swap to clan for wave three release. I also hope that, after the inevitable merc swap and subsequent IS pub/disconnect stomp, there isn't to much crying about nerf wave 3. Actually that would suck. Stomped for weeks on end then when you get new toys you can't really get games until after they are nerfed into the ground. Ha ha. Oh well. Will see how it goes.

Edit: Just read my post and it sounds fairly negative. Not my intention. Personally, I don't actually mind being repeatedly stomped as it has done wonders for my skill. Actually I'd rather that than be on the other side of the equation.

Just finished a month-long clan mechbay grab. Pugged practically all the time (not counting one evening of 2-manning with a friend from JF). Didn't meet many premades, mostly 2-6 mans. It was a mixed bag really. As JF (two evenings), I lost almost every match. As Wolf, I got to rank 2 in 3 matches. 3 wins in a row, all interesting and without stomps. 2 very close ones, like 43-43 when the timer reached 0:00. Funnily, if there were discos, it was usually one of the IS guys.

Yeah, clan pug teams can be greatly incompetent at times, but I seen similar 'roam around cluelessly or rush alone against the whole enemy team' behaviour on the IS side too.

I don't understand this whining about clan pugs or pugs in particular. There are several ways of forming at least a small premade (lfg, befriending competent CW players you saw in a match, faction TS, joining a unit...). If somebody intentionally avoid forming any kind of organised force in CW, that person can only blame himself/herself for being stomped or having incompetent teammates.
And yes, small premades won't turn a stomp into a vicory, but they can turn a close loss into a close victory, or a stomp into a non-humiliating defeat.

Is there any word on whether there will be drops between two IS factions or 2 Clan factions? That would be so nice and less boring than the same thing over and over. As for the level 20 players, how about something similar to WWII online, where they make the call as to what planet will be attacked? Perhaps you expend a certain number of points to put a planet in play.

You do know that a Faction can attack ANY of its neighbours? So IS vs. IS and Clan vs. Clan already happens, it just depends on players deciding which planet to drop on. The big Inner Sphere map does have a relevanfe to the list of planets on the righthand side, check out the planets are flashing and you'll see who owns them (the Faction).

Oh and on topic, i've had some really good fights in CommWar over the last 2 weeks. The Steiner front with Clans has given the Legion some good drops and tagging 3 planets helps make it more enjoyable :D

I guess I didn't know it worked like that. I have yet to see an IS/IS or Clan/Clan drop.

I am guessing you guys are not in the aussie time zone. Cause let me tell you, its practically dead
in our time zone.

If its not the weekend where I can play a bit during the day, CW doesn't even exist for me - as there is not enough attackers to get a match going on either side.

I drop solo as a clanner and have lots of fun. Unfortunately, I will have to play alot of non-CW matches in the near future but that is ok. Hopefully it will all be because I will have a load of mech bays to fill and master mechs! Need more banshees/adders to master up that free win sauce banshee that I got as well as the adder (eh I have it).. Come on lucky dice rolls!!!!!

Had a bunch of fun solo clanner drops recently, too.
