I would love to see the next cw map to be a giant city grid. Tall skyscrapers and plenty of flank lanes would be nice. Perhaps a river in the center with 6-8 bridges to cross or jj across. The bonzai through 1 of 2-3 chokepoint strategy is blah.

My next CW map wish is a truly humungus map in the style of Alpine peaks, with a city and some sea, and some..

Id love to see a map based on a portion of a real life city, like london or new york. i think that would be sweet.

But yeah, a more open city map is much needed. id say in the style of crimson straight without the massive mountain. or an up-scaled rivercity. both with higher density of buildings of all sizes

Yea a dense urban map or one underwater would be my preferences. Yes mechs (when equipped properly) can fight underwater.

  • LocationTo Nova or not to Nova. That is the question.

I do wonder, after hearing what the Devs said in Dev Vlog 12 about the rendering of objects that were not visible, just how large could a map get in MWO?

I do like that little vid included there Aresye and other than the size of the map (though it might be that the mechs themselves are quite small models compared to MWO) it seems that it uses endless respawns and the objectives are to shut down/capture your opponent's respawn locations.
An ongoing territorial battle as it were.
As a game mode for CW, I sincerely hope this is what we might see as a stage 2 after eliminating the orbital canons.
I think it could be done better using the drop decks and being able to retreat, repair and recover mechs than simply having unlimited respawns, but that's more around game modes than actual maps.

Map wise:
  • A major city, bigger than the new River City, would be awesome. If it had some outlying areas like farms and a star port as well, that would be cool.
  • An archipelago map where a good chunk of the map was deep water with various islands. That would be different.
  • A winding river valley.
There are probably thousands of possibilities.

Keeping troop morale high is of utmost priority.
