[Night Thastus]

Hey guys,

Looking for some help to make a keybind/thing that makes it so when I fire my tag it toggles instead needing to be held down.

It's annoying as all hell, and when I tried to find forum posts about this, a ton of the links were non-existent or non-functional, so I'm stuck trying to figure this out. Some of it doesn't work with new MWO or whatever.

Thanks for any help you can give.

MWO players have been looking for a TAG toggle option for years. Your best bet is to get a simple toggle macro that you can use to hold down the fire button on a weapon group.

you can use a piece of bubble gum to fix your mouse button always pressed, it's simpler and isn't a suspicious macro

Materials:

1.small object (for button pushing)
2.Small Ruler or thin rigid object (so that weight will balance more easily)
3.Weight

Procedure:

Place small object on weapon group used to fire tag (numpad 6 is out of the way.) Place the ruler or thin rigid object on top of the small object being used to push the key. Place a weight on top of the ruler such that the key to fire tag is now pushed down. To toggle, you will need to assign/unassign tag to you weapon group 6 in-game.


I tend to bind tag to all my weapon groups and then a dedicated tag weapon group.

• Put TAG on weapon group 6
  
• Push and hold '6' key
  
• Insert penny into crack above '6'

I just hold mine down. It's not that hard to do; not sure what all the fuss is about and why people think they need a toggle for it.

Ughhh. I hate to see mechs running around with their TAG always on. Drives me crazy. To be fair, though, I used to do the same thing when I first started playing. But then I learned how to just hold the button down as needed, like Nightmare1 said.

Ever seen a laser sight in any game need a button held down? No i didnt think so. Thats what Tag is after all. I didnt use it for the longest time because I had no idea how usefull it is. Its great, just doesnt have the option to toggle on. Lostech?

Your keyboard has a Toggle key on it already, just Map it to that...

These thingies about pressing button with some kind of weight are cool, tho if you use battlegrid (default "B" button) you'll have to re-press your assigned TAG button once again. That's not convenient.
I just can't understand why PGI couldn't add TAG toggle button once and for all

I mapped my tag's weapon group to the space bar, which is really easy to hold down with your thumb for as long as you want whenever you need to. Of course, I then had to map my jump jets key to "c", which might be an issue for you, no idea.
