So, How Can I Run This Game More Smoothly?

Im kind of starting to dislike this game. Mainly because of how high the requirements are...for a free to play game. I mean, I love battle tech, I love the lore, piloting the mechs, but I'm just stuck in a zone where even on the lowest possible setting my machine can't keep up with it.
And if you want to know what it is, it is this:
http://www.amazon.co...p+beats+edition
I was able to find a way to overclock the CPU to 3.2 GHz, but even with that I cant seem to catch a break. Some maps I will run...okay in, others I just am slow and unresponsive no matter how hard I try.
Which is mind boggling to me. My machine can handle games like Warframe, LoL, Titanfall, Fallout NV, and more. But when it comes to this game....it's like if you don't have a 2,000 pc you are gonna have a bad time....
But I will persist, and hopefully someone out there can help me get this to run better without having to shell out a huge sum of money for a new PC.

How much is "low" for you, because I'm running this game at 16 FPS. 20 on a good day when no one is shooting anything. When I first signed up I was playing at 9 FPS, I kid you not. First fix they implemented upped me to 14 FPS and my damage, and kill numbers doubled over night. XD

Well, at most for me would be about 600 dollars for a new PC.
And that's saving up half of my next two paychecks. Gotta get food and bills paid ya know?

Stay right here
I'm getting you the link to a very helpful thread, that can save you money
EDIT: Check this thread out

Ask questions there, and people will help you find cheaper options to upgrade your rig.
EDIT2: For the record, your AMD Radeon HD 8510G graphics is not helping you here.

Turning off cockpit glass should help a lot. Have you done that?
I'm on a laptop as well. I have all settings on low except for environment, textures, and object detail. This usually gets a solid 30-40 FPS.

*Frowns.*
This game already looks incredibly bad for the sake of the low end gamers. When it first started it had graphics that could compete with the PS4 / Xbox One titles...long before those existed, but despite how the low end settings are Playstation 1 quality... people still complained about it being too high back then.
What saddens me is so much was done to diminish the visual quality... when they only recently admitted that the current largest performance hog in MWO is actually the HUD. You can easily gain a full 16 to 30 frames (depending on your processor) by hitting Right Shift + F11.
Try it. First hit F9 in game. This will get you the frame rate in the upper left. Wait a moment, read the FPS. Now hit Right Shift + F11. Sure you just lost the Scaleform HUD... but HOLY CRAP YOU CAN MOVE AND ITS SOooo~oooOOO SMOOTH!
<.< Seriously, try it.
They said something about considering recoding the HUD and such to no longer use Scaleform. The new mechlab was also related to this effort.
Now... With that said: Close background programs to lighten your processor load. The game is a processor hog because of the heavy use of Scaleform code (a very inefficient scriptset) in addition with a prediction system known as Host State Rewind (which compensates for the lag of "Player wants to shoot. Client asks for permission to shoot. Server receives request. Server checks if possible. Server grants request. Server sends response. Client gets response. Player sees result" to show the result before all the work is done).

You are using an extremely weak CPU in a game that is CPU-bound up to 1080p. There is no magic trick to go around that.

To add to Koniving's comment about closing background programs, download CCleaner from Piriform. The free version works perfectly fine. Use it to easily see the programs that are running in the background and disable them. Next use it to clean your registry, then empty junk files.
Next download Defraggler, also from Piriform. It's an incredibly good program to defragment your hard drive. The first time just run it with defaults. Then read up on the options (or if your leaving for the weekend, just set it to do a full boot-time defrag and it may be done when you get back). You can even select specific files/folders (I usually defrag the MWO folder after patches).
Lastly, considering rebooting before you play if you've been doing homework, cruising the web etc. May not help, but might flush some junk out.

Only logging in here to bookmark Koniving's F11 post. And damn, Walker; how do you persist with sub 20 FPS?? As a Light pilot, that would drive me crazy!

I usually avoid piloting lights because I also run at about 25fps.
I'll be trying that F11 trick (with a piece of blutack strategically placed on my screen to act as recticle
)
....just as soon as I extract the semi-chewed winegum my delightful daughter placed under my F11 key :/
