Haven't sold a single thing since 2013. I have over 120 mechs! If I am losing a lot in one chassis I switch to another until I win. Why would you sell something that requires all that time to master?

Xl engines , Modules , and unmastered Mech Chassis aside, I keep at least 1 of each standard engine of each rating and 10-15 of each weapon type. Anything else is sell-able if it gets you the right configuration to keep grinding. If you enjoy the build you will play more. Money builds up when you are busy enjoying the game.

I am Mech Collector, so I have never once sold a mech, but your plight does point to an issue with the re-sale economy I've heard about.
If PGI increased the value of mechs, people might grind less or buy MC less.. so it's an obvious business tactic, I am sorry that it bites you in the butt tho.
I think if you buy a mech, PGI should consider giving you 5-10 drops to sell it back if you don't like it at.. let's say 50-70% value?
Just a thought...

Be nice to have a lease option. But I have a real hard time judging a mech until at least all basics are in(besides the Victor, dropped that thing quick). Until then it's up in the air.
Almost wish this game had a secondary market.

No, I don't post ambiguous thread titles as a form of clickbait. It was nice of you to ask, though.

Never sold anything to specifically buy a mech since Closed Beta. I do have a clear out from time to time though. Do you really need more than 10, 300std engines in the warehouse?
The last last time I did it I raised over 30m Cbills which bought me a few more modules with out affecting my overall bank balance.

Nope, I'm a bit more frugal with my money. If in doubt, spend real money. If you don't like the mech, you come out a head after selling it. Plus, I believe selling a "X"MC mech nets more c-bills than buying "X"MC of c-bills.
This way, you are always investing in your overall enjoyability in the game.

Does anyone else get so angry at the grind they periodically sell off their entire spare inventory only to buy a single mech? Then Figure out they hate that mech? Or am I the only jack wipe here?
done that more than once but not often

The grind has put me off playing for a few days and even weeks. But I joined a unit. So I don't feel it as much when I drop with them. But I feel bad when I can't bring better equipped mechs, because I don't play enough on my own time.
And I have sold stuff that I had too many of and didn't think I would ever use. But I would only do to soften the amount of grind I need to do.
