Ah but we must, otherwise, the debate will derail into locked Endo/Ferro vs seven slot advantage of the Clans, locked DHS vs 2 slot DHS for the Clans, Clan XL durability advantage vs IS engine swap etc... and will spiral out of control. Not to mention the lighter CAP and Clan ECM and half-weight CSRM and CSSRM.
Single ST death proof Clan XL engine is already a HUGE advantage. LFE is 10 years from now on, in comparison.
No we do not, since most clan mechs DO NOT have the same free tonnage as freebirth mechs do. You cannot compare the gauss carried by a victor (even minus quirks) to a gauss carried by a gargoyle, despite the fact that they are both 80 tons. The victor can (and usually does) carry far more weapons than the gargoyle. PGI balances this game around mech combat, not weapon stats. Which makes complete sense as we don't use individual weapons, but instead fight in mechs. Oh and this is not a debate, it's an arguement. I get that you can't understand why PGI has chosen to balance mechs (i.e. quirks) and not just weapons, I also get that you don't agree with this. But I agree with PGI's concept, and thus disagree with your opinion (which is all it is), there is no room for compromise, thus this isn't a debate, but an arguement.
As for the OP, the EBJ is a 65 ton mech that carries about as much weapons as the Timberwolf, but less heatsinks. It will actually be a non-assault mech that uses UAC's (as it can mount more than one). I plan on trying a 2xUAC 5 setup w/4xML, possibly a dual gauss setup, and a possible mini orion setup built around a UAC or LBX 20, but I don't have high hopes for that one. The squishiness of being a 65 ton mech makes me question it's staying power.
