Hello to all the fans of MWO, here's a little post on my thoughts of the executioner:

MASC allows it to do things that a mech of comparable size without MASC could ever hope to accomplish. It takes quite a bit of skill to use to its maximum potential, but once you do, you have a definite edge over opponents without it.

However, this MASC recharge is ludicrously slow. I'm not asking for much here, but a 10% increase or something in how fast it recharges would be nice. Can barely use it most of the time due to the shear lack of time left in the "recharge bar" of MASC.

Also, MASC should really only be used up when you're moving. If you're standing still, it shouldn't do anything. If you're standing in place and turning, it should do very little. From there, it should just be based on how fast you're traveling. The whole point of why masc couldn't be used constantly was due to the fact that it strained the actuators. If you're moving slow, or not at all, you aren't moving the actuators faster than they are rated for, and thus, not causing any real stress.

On things other than masc, it's nice, however, as many have mentioned:
The CT is absolutely gigantic. No amount of torso twisting or dodging, even with MASC, will stop you from being cored every single time. This needs to be adjusted. The CT hitbox flares out at the bottom, and since most mechs have their guns at about the high of the waist of the mech, the CT gets hit every time.

My thoughts.

MASC builds up when standing still because it imparts bonus' other than increased speed (like a huge boost to torso twist speed) So while it might seem silly at first, there's a very good reason for it. Granted, right now it's kind of worthless for the EXE cause CT too big.

MASC isn't valuable for the run speed anyway though. It's the acceleration decceleration bonus. The turn bonuse. Hopefully the twist bonus once that CT is fixed. The Executioner might be undergunned, with a fair amount of wasted weight, but its disgustingly fast and maneuverable for something weighing 95 tons. If the CT hitbox gets changed, I think the combo of manueverability, speed, and armor will make the Exe a powerful Assault mech.

I don't think the MASC should build up while standing still. As far as I know, it imparts no bonus to torso twist, just turning. And it it does speed up torso twisting, than it should only build up while actually TURNING the mech, and only by a very, very small amount. Same with just turning. Running should impart the largest amount of buildup, about the amount it does now.

I have only fought them in a few matches so far but the Executioner can surprise you with a quickness if you let your guard down.

I do not own any, so I cannot comment about piloting them.

Seems you are correct. My mistake. Could have sworn I saw a Torso Twist boost in the patch notes. Then yes, it is a little silly that it builds even if you're standing completely motionless.
