But it bobs up and down, so you have to follow it with lazors to keep up enough DPS.

BTW, try hitting one with LRMs sometime, NOW that is an exercise in futility! You can get 1 or 2 missiles to hit it MAYBE with each salvo fired, no matter how many LRMs in that salvo!

And fun fact, a few months back the falloff damage was broken, so at 2 KM you could take a UAV down with 2 cSPLs.
I miss that bug, it's been fixed.

Not to mention how rarely you can actually lock on to the dang thing.
If you have high-angle capable arm lasers, no matter what you're piloting, you need to be ready and willing to look to the sky so you can help your team by shooting these things down. Please. The moment someone says 'enemy UAV', you should be looking up unless you're literally in the middle of shooting a 'mech.

I'm guessin it moves.... what, like 1-2m [vertical] while hovering?
More like 5-7. Really screws with convergence and ballistics and even lets it dodge PPC bolts with some regularity.

I've never actually been able to get a lock with LRMs, even when I could target the UAV itself, I just dumbfired them until I realized that it's going to take me longer to shoot it down with LRMs than the silly things lifespan anyway.
Gyrok, it moves up and down because it's hovering, when they get shot down you can actually see the wreckage, central body and 4 jets attached to that via a framework, VERY much like current vtol style drones...

Yes...I know...but still...minor movement is one thing...sometimes they move several meters up/down...

You can lock them with LRMs and SSRMS if there is a friendly BAP near it, but even an LRM5 will miss with most of the missiles. One of those joke LRM machine gun builds might be more effective against it due to reduced spread, but that would still be useless against almost anything else.
