Whether you refer the new 65 tonner as Cauldron-Born or Ebon Jaguar, it doesn't matter. In my eyes, I will always see its designation as Epic Bl*wj*b. :P

In other news, the patch notes indicate that the Cauldron Born WILL in fact have a medium climbing archetype as predicted. It just keeps getting stronger and stronger...

Oh, and it also has zero quirks, which also means no negatives. The conspiracy to sell EBJ's thickens...

And the marketing scheme will be proven once the EBJ gets nerfs after a few months. That, and the Public Beta server tests nothing of value.

Let's just enjoy the IS tears before it gets nerfed.

Im ready bet money on it getting negative quirks in 6-12 month though. Unless it totally fails on hitboxes right at release that is.

Even if the hitboxes messed up, the torso mounts are so high that you could get away with hillhumping shots without getting shot back. There's almost nothing that can stop the EBJ from being pwnsauce.

Judging from its flat and bulky side torsi, the Epic ******* is gonna be pretty vulnerable to LRMs. Gonna have a field day Lurming those newly bought EBJs with my boats. Especially since the ECM Hellbies will be gone by then. :D

You mean 'relative' flat and bulky side torsi, that things probably similar to a nova. And we all know how much having a barnsized side torso hurt misery and krab.^^

I'm curious, but not looking forward to it to much. Gotta keep all my stronk assaults ready.

Its pay to pwn earlier, yes. Been that way since Clan Wave I. Good for marketing, for sure.

Of course it's not, it's just pay for early access brah!

Early access to what might be the next best mech in the game, that is.

Why wouldn't it have a medium movement archetype?

Timber is probably better still. More armor and JJ probably allow it to tank quite a bit more.

Did the Exe get quirks? So it's gonna be OP, too?

Was the Shadow Hawk the best medium mech when it was released? It's so long ago, I forget if it rose to dominance while it was still "early access" or if that happened later.

Come on, think about it before commenting. We don't even have the Cauldronguy and know it's gonna be OP. Of course PGi will nerf it, as usual, when it comes out of premium only. Only those willing to play can fully 'enjoy' the broken glory.

Of course it's not gonna be OP indefinitly. Otherwise people wouldn't buy the next overpowered thing.

Really, simple logic. The current P2W is a pretty twisted system.

Because it is a Heavy? Majority of the Heavies have Large archetype, in keeping with their weight to mobility ratio. Except in this case EBJ got off lightly due to its short height.

I know it had risen to top tier very fast, because the poptart meta was alive back then. Shawk's high mounted hardpoints were abused well.

It was pretty much off the bat, despite cries of DoA.

My issue with this reasoning? Then either the GRF or WVR should have been the Meta on their release, and the ENF, etc. Whatever new mechs should ALL be the tops when released.... and most are not. Hellbringer is really good, but not Timby good. MDD not even close. No medium has come close to the SCR, and it looks unlikely to change.

Simple fact? Somebody has to be top dog. Maybe EBJ will take it from the TBR. If it doesn't....how many people will actually man up and post they were wrong on here?
