Hi guys,

I have been playing the game since around September last year and I've noticed something about the way SRMs fire has left me stumped...

It seems that on certain mechs there is a slight delay of about half a second or more before the missiles actually fire once you've clicked.

However, on some mechs there is practically no delay at all.

My Centurion, Catapult A1 and Stalker 5m all have delays before the missiles leave once I click, whereas on my Dragon 1N and my Awesome 8R it is practically instantaneous as I assume it should be.

Could anyone shed some light as to why this is? Is this lore or just a glitch?

Thanks! ;)

is there any disadvantage to openeing the bay doors? i.e. make the components more vulnerable to damage?>

When closed they provide 10% damage resistance to the component they are in.

As Deforce says, but to put more detail to it. Those 3 mechs have bay doors on their missile pods, the stalker only has it on the arms though. Though for any Missile weapon to fire, the doors have to first open, then fires, then they close again. This is where the delay is coming from. hitting the / key will toggle the bay doors from normal use to perma-open.

There should be a little LED light on these 3 mechs cockpits that tell you the statues of the bay doors. In default they are yellow, green means they are open, and red means they were blown off. The only bonus I know of is, that if the bay doors are closed you get a 10% damage reduction on that section. which I think is not much and will never save you, so not worth having the delay, unless its LRM's cause delay does not matter there.
