I have a build that I like for the EBJ. It carries 2 LPL, 6 SPL, and 24 total DHS.
The question is, should I delete one DHS and put in a TC1?
Heat efficiency (in game) would drop from 1.18 to 1.16. Seems like the TC1 is the way to go, but I wanted to get some other opinions.

Which Is Worth More?

Hmm, okay. Why not? TC1 is a pretty good value, and the Mech's already hot. Doesn't seem like 0.02 heat efficiency would be worth the TC1 benefits.

I'm going to be contrary to these two and say TC1s give you a pretty good sized list of buffs for one ton, and I doubt you're going to miss 1 DHS. Every build I make has at least a TC1. Increased laser range, better crit chance, better sensor range, better zoom, faster info gathering, just for one measly ton. Why would you not take it?

That was my line of thinking as well. My build is all lasers so a TC is sort of max benefit possible. Every little bit of range helps with pulse lasers, too.

It's not that hot; something tells me you're not using the small ones at long range, and if you're in brawling distance you're probably fire the pulses only when you can afford it heat wise
So
I'd rather take the TC1, I'd rather have the better range (hey with modules especially

And some modules, large pulse range; small ones fire rate
Maybe a coolshot if you're really in a pickle

Why not like this?
On the other hand, the CB is a poor brawler, I wouldn't take SPL at all, but it's your choice.

Switch to a B right torso, put a SPL in it, and that's pretty much my build. The alternative is to drop the TC1 and put in one more DHS.
I find that it brawls really well, actually, in no small part because the arms absorb a lot of fire while you're twisting. Sure, that means you lose SPL here and there, but they're just SPL after all. The build is wicked when it first engages.

Absolutely!
The benefits from the TC1 out weigh the little bit of cooling you get IMO.
The benefits are quite diminishing after the TC1 tho...
The targeting time and Crit chances alone are worth it to me.
