TBR-PRIME - UAC10(3t ammo), 3xSRM4(1.5t ammo), 3xERML, 22 DHS
Unlike many Timberwolf builds, it's also cool running and thus fairly forgiving for new players. You can afford to shave a DHS or two for extra ammo if that's your bag, and not suffer crippling heat.
A wide cross section of weapon times (SRM, AC, Laser) allows the build to continue functioning well even if the meta shifts.

Has 4 tons of ammo between the two and a solid cooling
Only uses (S) omnipods for simplicity and so it can rock all the Jump Jets.

The single jump jet is for extra agility at a small cost and the ability to "jump fire" the streaks over a hill. BAP provides passive Counter-ECM capability against a single mech.
Ghost heat is completely negligible for the Streaks and non existent for the lasers. Full alphas are perfectly viable without blowing up the mech from overheating.
Grouping for a noob can't possibly be more straightforward too :
- Mouse 1 for the lasers (which are all mounted on the arms to make it even simpler).
- Mouse 2 for the streaks (maybe put them on chainfire by default...).
Overall, it's one of the simplest "general purpose" build one can think of that performs decently up to 350-400m.
If i had to make a starter Timby for a newbie friend, that would be it...

The first mech they choose is the one they just got finished hammering with a scaling energy penalty despite that its cannon configurations are overwhelmingly energy-intensive loads.

pgi, if you don't know of any build a random derp would pay money for, i'd be a bit more cautious about how hard to swing the nerfbat.
*no entry, but if you wanna do something usefull, slap a couple of jumpjets, an lbx20 and 4 srm4+a on it. you're welcome.
