So, took a break from MWO for a few months, and the current event brought me back for random cockpit item goodness.
I've stayed patched up so login, and I'm now running at fractionally over 30 FPS in the Garage. Weird, but I push "Play."
In game, I'm now running at about 13 FPS. When last I played during the winter, I was running comfortably around 60.
For troubleshooting purposes: Issue occurred on multiple maps, and even before combat had been joined. Actually combat, missles and other effects, smoking wreckage did not affect my framerate in any way. Turned my settingts to 'low' with no benefit.
I'd send in a support ticket, but it's already Friday afternoon. As I'd like to actually play this weekend, this is likely my only method of getting timely assistance.
So, short version too late:
1) What broke things this time? (I saw a couple of archived posts about a patch last May, but no actually fixes.)
2) How do I fix it and get my robot carnage on?
3) Or, am I taking another few months off until whatever this is gets resolved?

If ur fps in garage is 30, chances are your GPU is running at half clock speed. Usually when that happens I just reboot and it comes back to normal.

Hmm
just to throw my hat in the ring here
Did you try DX11 and DX 9?
Also, did you try the 32/64 bit client?
What kind of computer spec do you have?
Are you on a laptop with switchable graphics?

Turns out on my last Windows Update, my power settings got set to Power Saver mode. Thanks to ScoutMaster for pointing me in the right direction.
