Most EBJ pilots suck tbh.
In my own experiences it's quite possible to lose STs and I've done it quite often. Most of the time when I die I've lost a ST and all the armor on my other torsos as well. The CT is a decent size but spreading damage is fine

[edit] Also shot the Rtorso off an enemy Executioner and watched all his guns go bye-bye, was nice.

Its how PGI sells mechs. When newish they are OP, then later nuked, in favor of newer mechs, so you buy new mechs. Bait & switch, rinse, repeat.

I highly doubt it's just the Executioner. SRM hitreg has been bad for as long as I've played the game.
I've basiced 3 of the Exe's so far, and found that while it's 95 tonner armor is great, it's not going to stand up to much more fire than a heavy. If I accidentally walk out in the open, I've been chewed to pieces in seconds, barely able to limp away. The positive is that it usually survives things that my Gargoyle would have gone nuclear from. I credit the thinner torso and 95 tonner armor however.
Now, I just need to master the stupid things. The only other assault I enjoy as much is probably the Zeus, and that's because it has insane armor/structure buffs.
