Anyway I heard good things about the Loup De Guerre. I think you should buy it.

1 ERLL 4 Lrm5s jumpjets and an XL285, it is my 4th Treb and I run the 1 ERLL and 4 Lrm5 combo on a few IS mediums.
I walked right thru the skills.
I did use it in the comp but I like the 7K so much more. I usually don't like ballistics but the quirks make dual AC5 devastating, back it up with 2 ml.
I kept finding myself wandering off to play it or my BJs
Edit: I did all the real event grinding in my Misery but made it on the Treb Leader Board do to a few 700+ dmg runs around Caustic, IS medium and 4+ Lrm5s and I own that map.

I also liked 4xSRM2+Art and 2xML a lot, the Artemis (yes, on SRM2) makes quite a difference to target a specific component. It would have been much better if all tubes where at the same place and because of that you must keep an eye for the best distance a bit but I like it.
The 4xSRM4 with 2xML was too hot and sometimes I was missing ammos so I quickly got rid of that one.

it ran really really well if you could use the JJ to position where the enemy had a hard time to return fire, like a high platform on mining collective. I shot down on top of enemy mechs often and to good effect, the LPL duration made it so easy to peek and shoot, or even some mild poptarting from close range.
It ran HOT though, and had no sustainability for a brawl. I usually would chainfire SRM two spam into certain enemy to keep them from concentrating(especially ones trying to run or panic) otherwise I would skip them completely and use the LPL only if I had to start jump brawling.
it did have a nice peek alpha from close range, though the SRM dmg was not really clustered too well, it still added significant dmg at a high rate of fire, and I had LPL for surgery anyway. Adjust SRM ammo to taste. you always want to run out before you get in a bad shape so you dont risk explosions. twin LPL is plenty of reserve firepower.
The quad LRM5 loadout as a mobile LRM support works well also. Stick with team, rain on enemy from jst behind front line at say 300M, control the battlefield. I used my one QKD this way also, and it works. just make sure you have enough engine to keep up with the flanker squad and not get left behind. better to have more engine and run out of ammo and rely on ML for clean up then be too slow and die to ammo explosions.

The only problem is when many carry AMS then you need to wait or try alpha the LRMs but I much prefer to rain LRM5 continuously on a single target which is pretty effective.

BTW, when you do that to me, trust in the knowledge that I will run past your entire team, just to kill you. I don't mind LRM mechs. I personally hate dealing with chain fired LRM5s. They are extremely annoying for me.
Other than that. It's a solid mech, and I advise against Artemis on SRM2s. Their spread is already minimal.

LOL. Can attest: last match I recall with IraqiWalker I caught his Centurian in the open on Tourmaline with my T-bucket7(M....K? whichever LRM15 quirks one) and dumped 3 salvos of LRM30 on him. He bum rushed past two team mates and brawled my treb. His pals were better then my pals.... lol, but it was fun... and kinda funny. My T-bucket has 3 ML, and not a brawler, it runs too hot trying to jump brawl, but I had you twisting to all get out and on your toes jumping around trying not to overheat.
As for the SRM2 on the LDG, the spread is notable, each SRM gets it's own location, so they start out pretty wide and don;t narrow much by max range. So you tendd to not hit one enemy location at all unless you chainfire. Or, chestbump. LOL, I did that to a couple lights trying to give me hugs, one in particular, some Panther, I litterally RAN OVER givinghim an Alpha strike at point blank(like 10M) into his CT and he popped and I walked right over him to shoot the next guy right in stride. But in general, dont expect some kind of comp. wrecking SRM salvo. it is plain OL' raw dmg on this mech. Use lasers for precise shots.

I'm one of very few people who respect that if you leave a trench bucket alone for more than 30 seconds, he'll break you in half. Plus, I was really getting hammered by those LRMs, and trying to keep them from my gun, and STs (XL engine). Not to mention that LRMs have this powerful effect of pacifying the targeted team, since none of them want to be hit by the explosive burning shower. Then I saw your name, and that really made it final that I had to try to take you with me.
I think I ran past an Ebon Jaguar trying to get to you.

Have you tested it? It does make a difference... I even use it on an Orion which is pretty well suited for that with it's quirks.
I'll keep an eye for you on the battlefield...

Oh yeah. The difference is not worth the tonnage, and slot cost. It's very inefficient. My Protector packs SRM6s with Artemis though. If you see that one, don't get within 300 meters of me (AC 20 + SRM6s = splat! dead)

yeah even with artemis, SRM2 on this LDG wont really spike to one point unless you are REALLY close anyway artemis or not, the arm mounts are too far apart. Now if you used artemis with some trigger groups, like right side on one trigger(arm and ST) and left on another, and then fired back to back....
nah, it costs 4 more tons and 4 more slots. I mean if it is working for you, go for it. IMO, artemis for SRM starts with more than 3 launchers of srm4 or bigger, and SRM4 is dictated by grouping on a mech.
Want to see something cool to illustrate? About grouping I mean. Look at the LDG with 4x SRM equipped. I mean look at the mech itself in mechbay, to see where the tubes are. THEN, take a Shadowhawk 2D2, and equip a non artemis SRM4 (or 2's even, but the 4's show it more) in each slot. 4x SRM4 total, one head, CT, two in RT. Now look where the tubes are.
Mech differences like that are a big part of how I decide if Arty + SRM is worth it or not. In the case of the LDG, while arty might help, it just isnt going to pull them together enough. On the Shawk, I have options, do I use as is, because the group is so nice, or do I spend on arty to make that group into a tightly choked buckshot blast you could damn near headshot a mech with? Depends on rest of loadout mostly lol, but it is part of a consideration while "mechlabbing" these stompy robots.

I'm a master of the chain rattle Lrm5s, I run the 4x lrm5 1x erll on several mediums but 1 stands above them all in this role, The Kintaro 18. 5x lrm5. 1x erll. tag. xl300. advance zoom. target decay. lrm5 cooldown. erll cooldown. 1 double heatsink with a heat of 1.55.
I like it when some one challenges me like that, Im pretty good at brawling the erll and maintaining range with the lrms. If you're not faster than 97.2 you better find a rock to hide behind.
