Right now everything moves like it has wheel, things slowly turn, and seem to fight inertia on acceleration. The thing is LEGS don't work that way. A legs doesn't slowly spin to and speed up in order to move faster, it just moves.

This is post is in regards to the never fixed ankle high rocks of slight incline completely stopping your movement, which had really been a thorn in my side since day 1.

The destructive pebbles thing is mostly due to the highly restrictive hill climbing system, not acceleration/agility.

What?

If anything, things move far too FAST in MWO.

You have no difficulty tracking a Light in your Assault mech until it comes within 50M.

If you think things are sluggish, go give MWLL a try, where mechs can move over 200 Kph, but feel more sluggish than MWO. Mainly because of the insane 40% buffs you get with doubled basics and large engines.

Pebbles stopping you is a bit of an issue, but acceleration increases are already at +45% with doubled basics. More than that, you'll get into Plaid speed.

And here I was suggesting to slow everything down in game so relative speeds of 215kph would be possible. To compensate for the twitch hit on slower targets, introduce some kind of lazy reticle or something.

Sure a sprinter can kick off the blocks at near max speed. But have you seen soldiers dash in full rattle from a stand? That extra 80lbs adds a lot of mass and inertia the body needs to overcome to get moving, and it takes a second to get to full speed.

Honestly, when you take into account that Mechs are usually moving across soft ground covered with sand, mud, snow, grass and water, it's absolutely insane how they are able to accelerate instantly and keep moving around without sinking an inch into the ground. When a light mech goes 0-170 kph in MWO, it moves like it's standing a runway built with asphalt over 2 meters thick reinforced concrete.

If this game had any realism, mechs would be constantly falling on their ass, and it wouldn't be because of knockdowns. It would just be 35 ton mechs running at 150 kph and trying to turn 180 degrees at full speed, moving on unstable ground.

All mechs in MWO need to be more sluggish, IMO. Increase TTK while you're at it, and make the whole game more slow paced.
