A lot of time I post cuz I think majority of people talking are idiots. A lot of them. Even if I don't want to or whatever sometimes it's like, ****, this needs to be said. Pushback against the idiots.

Food for thought - ok, if pop is down, meta is boring as ****, but the game is slightly more balanced... does this community really get what it wants? or is it the meek? the loud? what.

And btw it's always game related and not personal, even if it's "you're a dingus newb blahblah"

They probably get wind of giant controversial topic. But mostly no point, but there never really was. Take a look at over the last few years, they've always done their own thing for the most part. Sure some things lined up, but that's probably more luck than listening.

We just all need to move to twitter, which will probably be ignored as well.

Russ has made it publicly known that neither he, nor any key senior member with PGI will be interacting with any of us here on the forums on any level what so ever concerning anything to do with gameplay or its mechanics.

May I ask you to quote his exact words? I'd like to read what exactly he said.

Most of it came out of this discussion thread, where he stated to the OP exactly that.

But its been going on for a while and most of us already knew.

Forums are primarily made for the community to interact with each other and help each other out and not for the heads of a company to sift through hundreds of posts a day and reply to each one.

Is there an official statement from Russ and his fellows that they won't use the forums anymore?

Where to post concerns and ideas then?

Just out of curiosity..

What are we even doing here on these forums.

I am already in the top 25 most posted active members in these forums, and I am grinding to be included in the top 10, while trying to have Post/Like ratio of 2.0.

There you have it. For me, it is almost like a tournament. :P

And I must say, that grinding for forum achievement by posting is much more fun than grinding for a trinket/mech/whatnot in the actual game. Which is unfortunate indeed.

I find it extremely hard to believe that no one from PGI reads these forums and doesn't pass along any relevant thoughts. I have heard that Russ doesn't read the forums - maybe someone can post a link to that - but that doesn't mean no feedback at all gets to PGI from these forums.

The biggest problem is:
This forums can be more fun than the game is.
Sad.
But true.

Discussing the game isn't just about being immediately heard by PGI, it's also about grinding out the opinions within the community until there is discernable trends. It's a slow process and doesn't happen in one thread, but it does happen, and it affects the discussions that the devs eventually listen to.

There also needs to be a place for useless complaints, posturing and gibberish, because those things are constant and actually needs to be somewhere. Might as well be here where they don't waste too much dev time.

Video Games are a hobby, game forums are a place to discuss this hobby.

I assume many of us are here because our spouses, family members or next door neighboors don't actually care about giant robots, laser burn times or the current functionality of jump jets.

Sometimes we can affect a change, but mostly we're just here to chat.

MWO Players outnumber Devs by a very large margin. The amount of posts uploaded to these forums on a daily basis would make it economically unfeasible for Devs to interact with everyone. If if not everyone is getting interacted with, than those who don't will complain. And the next thing you know, Devs are no longer making a game but spending time on the forums.....

I'm sure some of us players have jobs that inadvertently pay us to be on the forums. But for the MWO Devs, I highly doubt that is what they get paid to do.
