I've been playing CW since the beginning, and yes, base rushing was an issue. PGI got a ton of complaints and decided to shell the gens so you can only shoot through a peephole. I don't know how other people feel about this change, but I feel like it is a band-aid that doesn't fix the source of the problem. Here is why I don't like the change:

1. It makes no sense design wise. Think if you are an architect trying to figure out how to protect the generators. Why leave a gaping hole in your design?

2. It changes CW matches into skirmishes. It makes absolutely no sense to attack the generators unless it is a last ditch effort. In order to do so you have to stand still with your back facing the enemy. Our unit has since then completely ignored generators until the enemy is completely dead or time is almost out.

3. The generators are conveniently placed close to the drop-zone. Why venture anywhere else but around Omega? This narrows down where battles are fought. Guess where we are heading to? OMEGA

I don't have much experience being on the defending side since I am with the clans, but any feedback from the opposite perspective would be welcomed.

Yea i agree, CW this weekend was basically a Skirmish except with a long narrow one way passage you can't flank. You either face to face trade 12v12 or rush the other team head first. Out of 20+ games this weekend the only time the generators were attacked were when a 12 man premade had the defenders spawn locked and attacked the generators just to end the suffering early. Every other time they are just there to stop people from power down hiding.

Well, technically it is more like Assault. Almost exactly in fact.

So long as the rewards system continues to be... ♪All about the kills, about the kills, no objectives!♪ These sort of things will continue to bolster

48 mech death match with worthless generators to kill at the end of the match.

The change does not matter much. The ones that could not defend a rush before will not be able to defend it now. But i like To see alternating placement of the gens without the generators being revealed to the attacker on the map until discovered.

this would make light rushing way more difficult. At least for the first wave.

A mobile HQ to destroy. Placed at randomly chosen positions each match. Generators that power turrets, etc. PGI just has to look into the old MWgames to get an idea how it should look like and voila....they do not have to reinvent the wheel.
