NVidia butterfly for MC anyone? ^_^

Aaaannnd, counterpart for ATI - girlie in a red and black latex :o Yet to be delivered

The NVidia Dawn (that was the name) was paid for by NVidia -- so NVidia would have to let PGI re-release it.

And I think NVidia still has their logo in the MWO startup? So unlikely that ATI would get to have any promo items in-game.

Given the flap, ruckus, and hullabaloo that came about from people asking for Phoenix mechs to be re-released, PGI may be wary of anything "exclusive" anymore. But they COULD have a brand new "limited time never to be sold again" item or set of items.

Also given the way the forums explode in "CASH GRAB" rants everytime PGI releases anything I think the following is nearly impossible to expect, but... any corporation that wanted to advertise could partner with PGI to create cockpit items... Taco Bell could pay to have standing food bags with their logo, or stuff like that. PCGamer magazine did that early on.

Firstly I know, those things are very special, and were time limited in past etc...
Im talking about founders camo, robocop cammo, some unique cockpit items, and so on, which you cannot get anymore)

As a new player, for me its not possible to get the touch on these things, even id like to buy them fo some MC.) camos + cockpit items.

I know all of you who own the things would be against it, but id like to have for exampler atlas founder camo if possible....
But cannot due to being new player only. (relatively)

I have in my mind ONLY visual things, not the mechs (founder) itself, nor their loadout, cbills bonuses. Just visual things....

I heard there was some event, allowing to re-buy founder mechs at a later time, was it true ?

they release the Nvidia Fairy again and i quit. She's all mine and only mine!!!

And this is exactly why the term 'exclusive' should not be used in anything online anymore.

I said this exact same thing back during that Phoenix bruhaha, that people are going to find this stuff, be curious about it, and then get it thrown in their face that 'they should have been there'.

That sort of attitude nearly destroyed Star Trek Online, which I was a part of the closed beta for. If you think the MWO forums are bad now, or during that Phoenix event, you should have seen the STO forums during the first year of that game. They'd make this place look like a playground for crying out loud.

About the only way I see anything like this stuff being made available again is if MWO hits Steam. Because games like the Mass Effect games with their 'pre-order exclusives' are there, and those same 'exclusives' are available there too. I'm not sure if it's a requirement or something, and I've tried finding out, but I don't want to have to comb through Steam's license agreements and all that legalese.

I said it before, and I'll say it again. Phoenix owners have had three years, three bloody years to enjoy their 'exclusive' mechs.

I don't know how many people here play console games still, but I've played Forza Motorsport since the first one on the original XBox, and they've had plenty of 'exclusive' stuff in their games, with the caveat that, the people that order the Day One or other 'limited edition' version of the game get to enjoy that content for a set period of time before the rest of the players get to enjoy it as well.

The same thing should apply to the Phoenix mechs. Otherwise, it's time to start shutting down the Clan Wave 1/2 and Resistance Wave 1 portions of the store, since those mechs are available for C-Bills. You can't have it both ways.

Founders helped... alot... however, i would not say that they got the game off the ground you know... the game back then was up and running well before founder program started (it was already coded by someone else). It is also worth mentioning that it has changed very little compared to those days. There has been some improvements as well as some screw ups.

Founders i think were more like walking along side the game to help pick it up if it was going to fall off... it was already off ground when founders arrived.

IIRC There was a tournament a long time ago... winners got a camo as a reward (its not available on all mechs btw)

Oh you know so little my padawan.

One day i will tell you the story of closed beta and how joyous it was back then

What is "exclusive" about the founders/phoenix mechs? An extra letter at the end of a chassis anyone can buy? A minor c-bill or LP boost? C'mon...

Really the only things "exclusive" ARE the visual things, so I'd understand why people want to hold on to those and not have them be available to everyone.

Call me Mercenary, but I don't see any trouble with releasing any skin / camo pattern etc for purchase after the fact for MC/Cash.

The only things from the founders etc that I would see denied those that didn't buy when the buying was good would be the Tags and Titles and the mech designator for version of the mech they wish to buy. Ie. No P or F for your mech.

I don't remember it that way. It was just as contrary as it is today. Though there were more true BT fans around then.

Two years, three years, what-the-F-ever, that's still more than enough time to enjoy your 'exclusivity'. My point still stands. You've had your 'time in the sun' and it's time for other people to enjoy them too.

And don't give me the whole "C-Bill" argument, or did you just completely ignore my point on that too?

Yeah, how about no. :P

It's pretty much a proven fact at this point that if you keep harping on an issue long enough, PGI eventually acts on it.

EDIT: Founders mechs have been declared sacrosanct. Phoenix hasn't. Until such time as they are, this will remain an issue.

I'm assuming you mean other exclusive camos. Honestly, the Phoenix camo is pretty blah. I wouldn't worry too much about missing that one.

Really, thr regular camos seem to be thr better choice even if they lack that exclusive feel to them. For instance, I always had a soft spot for the Buccaneer myself. It looks great on my Hunchback 4P and Catapult K2.

Fractal and Buccaneer are my 2 favorites...

With the recent poll, the (P) 'mechs are effectively sacrosanct too.

Like I said in my previous post, you're just going to have to deal with the fact that you're not going to get a participation trophy for something you didn't participate in, whether it is the founder program or the limited-time phoenix offer.

I always thought the point of Exclusive as that it was, you know, exclusive, meaning NOT everyone got it.

Sorry you missed out on the Exclusive stuff, but if it's availible for whomever wants it, what the hell is the point of it being Exclusive?

An they can have 3 bloody more, what don't you understand about exclusive means?

You can buy the same mechs just without the exclusive part for game wsie it's even but now u want the exclusive part also cause you joined up late and now want to be like the cool kids?

too bad so sad, move on, your wasting space

Have you forgetten so much so quickly?

No charge guass, better graphics, 8v8 is more fun than these over crowded 8 man maps with 12 players in them. TTK was less in 8 man than 12. Less Meta play was a big one. all mechs got used not just some variants now. Knock down with dragon bowling and jenner crash tackles.

the list goes on,

plus the big one, we all still where starrie eyed and had hope for a CW that was going to be glorius and wonderful and released 6 months after leaving beta.

Oh how the lies have broken my heart many a time. I feel at times i'm in a spouse abuse relationship where i'm the battered wife who keeps saying but he said this time it was for sure, he'll treat me better i'm certain and i keep going back and keep getting black eyes and broken teeth.

OP, thats the Buccaneer camo, its differs slightly from mech to mech and yes that is available for every single one of your mechs in both One Shot and Unlockable varieties.

It only says that on the leg for the Quickdraws, has other stuff on different mechs.
