The Tallman would work for me. As long as PGI avoids its habit of making garish hero paint schemes or awful dynamic geometry.

If we pull from the 3025 TRO, we could get the TDR-5SE; another jumping Thud. That one comes with Napoleonic trappings, and external speakers like the Heavy Metal! Alternatively we could get a Thud with mobility quirks and St' Ives Liao markings.

I always hold out hope for 3025 era tech in the heroes, but that hasn't happened of late.

Pretty much how I feel

Speakers playing the 1812 might be fun..

maeve (a clone of jaime wolf) piloted a thunderbolt with clan weapon (:

iirc it had a pretty black widow painting too

I'd love to see the Thunderbolt equivalent of the GRF-2N. One missile launcher on each shoulder, for a total of 2 missile hardpoints in each side torso. 2 or 3 energy hardpoints, I don't care.

I don't know what they should do with the Wolverine. I hate that mech. Give it a ballistic hardpoint in the cockpit, so people can have a cockpit-mounted AC2. And then 2 more ballistic hardpoints in the CT. 3xAC2 zombie build.
Full armour + 3xAC2 + STD200 engine + 2 heatsinks gives you 10+ tons for ammo, jump jets and backup weapons

Both the wolverine and thunderbolts have very strong quirks, so my question is how they will handle that aspect of building the heroes. If they aren't up to snuff with the current variants not many people will buy them, but if they are as heavily quirked...well you will have some clan whining at least. I guess they could go with less quirks and some special feature, like ECM or MASC to make them useful, dunno.

Tallman would be ironic, as the thunderbolt got turned into one of our biggest fatties even though a most of thunderbolt art shows him from medium to thin in profile.

would be nice to have a Hero again that wasn't a cashwalled retread of a stock variant. That's all I can hope for. Yet so many people seem to be asking for them to do that. I don't get it. Mechs like the TDR-5SE are horrible Hero basis, because they should simply be available for CBills, period.

Taken from the 3025 TRO

Notable 'Mechs and Mechwarriors
Captain "Dashing John" MacAllister
Commander of MacAllister's Support Company of the Eridani Light Horse, "Dashing John" models himself after the heavy cavalry officers of ancient Earth history. A student of Napoleon, he is famous for going into battle with Terran-French martial music blaring from the external cockpit speakers of his Thunderbolt, the Toujours L'Audance. His men nearly worship him, and many have adapted bits of old-style Napoleonic uniforms as their trademark. MacAllister is known for his rear-guard actions in support of the Eridani Light Horse, and has tallied 26 kills of his own.

MechWarrior Clare Sarton
Part of Keniston's Assault Lance of House Liao's Seventh St. Ives Armored Cavalry, Clare Sarton is quite young to have achieved a reputation among MechWarriors. Most of her fame is based on the Forth (and final) battle of Oasis 326 on the desert planet Daniels. Here she single-handedly disabled five enemy 'Mechs in as many minutes as they charged down the dunes toward her lance's position. It was mainly Sarton's speed and dexterity at the controls of her Thunderbolt, the Wild One, that forced the Davion attackers to withdraw. With the arrival of additional Davion reinforcements, however, the Liao forces eventually had to evacuate Daniels some weeks later.

Now why not let them make up a variant based on one of these warriors, like they usually do, because I for one can promise zero dollars spent on another boring laservomit, like the Tallman.

Man, what is wrong with everyone?

We have a new mech announced and why hasn't anyone claimed it is DOA yet?

Slackers.

I'd LOVE to see the TDR-5S-T

9E hardpoints, yes please. The only problem is all the QQ from clans if they release it with any worthwhile quirks.

I kind of hope for it too....with all the Epoints in mid torso so all the IS QQ about not being able to peek will flow.......

Fictional Hero...

A Thunderbolt with a large left torso mounted ballistic (similar to the cataphract) that sits under the cockpit. 2 energy in each arm, 2 missile in the right torso.

Call it the Warthog. :)

We already have a Tbolt hero (5SS) and WVR hero (6K) so I'm not sure what they could give us that will be desirable

RT high shoulder mount dual ac5. 3 Lasers in LT, SRMs in each arm.

Interesting, but feels like it loses the Warthog vibe without the ballistic under the cockpit.

I like it though, maybe call it the Marauder...I...I'll go sit in the corner.

I want it to be Marik themed, there's already a St Ives mech and Steiner has enough already.

We already HAD the Hero Wolverine.

Wubverine...Weapon X. Had its adamantium removed and is stuck with regular large lasers.

Restore his full power.
Give him a yellow-blue-black paint scheme.

Fixed.

Being mysefl a napoleonic era grognard, I strongly recommend MacAllister!

edit: on a side note, best uniform in war history, for instance:

Torso mounted AC20 would be interesting and give it an unique capability among siblings.
