So as the Roadmap has been updated I think there are some important news in there:

http://mwomercs.com/...71#entry4473871

Removed legging stun lock - a mech will still drop to 15 kph when legged but will no longer continue to drop down as it takes damage, it will climb to its new top speed and remain there.

Nice thing to have will reduce the pain of getting legged and possibly improve the Speed Retention module a bit.

Two new hero mechs - Thunderbolt and Wolverine

Well I have been driving Thunderbolts since I started playing so i´m looking forward to this.

Mechlab retrofits - Retrofits are complete for the Awesome, Commando, Dragon and Cicada - also the Centurion gets some minor changes to the look of its main right arm weapon.

Mechlab expanded view for 720p - The Mechlab will now function for 720p resolutions. The Warehouse will roll out from the right hand side which unlocks those resolutions.

August 4th
New Mech Select Screen - we are targeting this patch for a new Mech Select screen that incorporates all player feedback and we feel will be another big upgrade to the front end experience in MWO.

There´s already a thread about the first point, but new Mechlab resolution and New Mech Select Screen show the Dev´s have been listening to the community and that is a Pro.

Those are the things I found most interesting about the Roadmap update and I wanted to get everyone aware about them. :) Discuss!

I will try to say it nice.

Don't you agree -as we look at the development speed- this is somewhat...rather.. bit disappointing?

Not sure how others think about it. But hey it's my opinion. It just makes my eyes water a bit.

It's something! They're atleast progressing. That's a plus.

I feel PGI is one of the developers who takes players feedback and implement them, both positive and negative. If they could be more creative with their game then it would be great!

I wonder how much they'll change the Centurion's arm.
Probably going to make it EVEN WORSE.

-_-

I think it will be fine. They adjusted the Jagers again. It's looks better. But it won't be the old stuff anymore, the one with the huge long barrels.

Well, I started playing end of 2013, and I think compared to 2014 development speed has increased. Could it be faster and would I wish for more depth in the game? Sure but they still are a small studio and I think the gameplay is quite good.

Well it had been increased. I agree, but the frequency of mech packs as well. As well as preorders and mechs.

So i am not sure. But i think i will stick in the grey area.

Right some creativity would be good. There are so many ideas from players what could be done, i.e. revamping the skill tree (with sidegrades added so real choice) and such things would put loads of fun and a sense of achievement into the game.

Grey area is certainly appropriate ;)

True there are lots of Packs up, but one does not need to buy them. I feel it´s a good method of making money, everyone who wants to support the game or wants to get his hands on a mech early can pay, those who don´t wait.
I for example A la carted the Hellbringer (good choice the rest of Wave3 was garbage^^)

That would be insane - there are people who frothed at the mouth so profusely after the first change that the ocean levels raised a few meters. The only reason PGI would change that arm would be to make it BIGGER in an attempt to ward off the pitchfork wielding masses.

Making it worse would be the equivalent of guest speaking at a feminist rally and offering a kitchen sink as a gift before asking for someone to make you a goddamn sammich - and I know how that plays out, as I witnessed a friend do it (one of those friends where people say "why is he your friend?" and... you can't really answer).

Several of these changes sound positive, and are cause for cautious optimism.

The dynamic geometry changes are usually bad, and occasionally awful. Dreading those.

Looking forward to seeing the Thunderbolt and Wolverine heroes. Hoping for more 'Grey Death' and less 'Hellslinger' ...

I think it´s nice we get a new Mech Select, as that was one of the issues with the Mechlab many people freaked out about.

Overall very good stuff. Can't wait to see how everything plays out.

The Centurion's arm HAS to look better. It looks more terrible than terrible right now. It's just a rectangular box with an elbow sticking out the back.

Despite the 720 resolution support, I think I'm leaving my client set at 900. It seems to run fine still and it just looks so much clearer. I sacrificed some texture detail, but overall it looks better at 900.
