I am using a Logitech Extreme Pro 3D joystick and a Logitech G602 mouse. I have the joystick controller software set to how I want it and it works fine...usually. Sometimes when I am in the testing grounds it suddenly reverts to the MWO default "joystick 0" controls. Very annoying. So I want to know how to go into settings in the mech lab under the controller tab and change the joystick button bindings so if this happend in a battle i dont have to die quicker. I found out how to remove a joystick button assignment (just hit the "x") but cant figure out how to put in a new assignment. The mouse doesnt have this problem btw.

How Do I Change The Key Bindings On My Joystick?

To set any key binding double click (really fast) the box listing the assigned key, then press the button you want to set it to.
To get there ingame press esc to bring up the menu then chose settings, to do it in the home screen/Mechlab/store/faction tab look for settings, it is a small button with a cog on it in the bottom right corner of the screen.
As for why you would loose the settings unfortunately this has only happened to me after a reinstall so I do not know why.

Ok... maybe u need to reconfigure your key map setting on your stick.
I use a Naos 7000 series mouse. I actually have to go to the Naos settings to config it's buttons to match the keyboard setting.
For example. If I set button 4 on the mouse for the E key on the kb, then when I press button 4 on the mouse, it will trigger whatever I programed on the kb E key ....

There's a very specific tab for joystick controls.
Be certain you clicked on "Controller" and not "Keyboard."
Second.... You MUST have the controller connected (check "Game Controllers" in Windows control panel to make certain and test it there) BEFORE you start MWO. If you connected it after, restart MWO as it will NOT be recognized until you do. (This so far is true of almost every game I've played on Windows 7).
