Felix Calderon is the fourth child of Thomas Calderon and his wife Katherine Calderon, both members of the ruling family of the Taurian Concordat. He was born after Janice Calderon and Ian Calderon but before Jeffrey Calderon, putting his year of birth between 3020 and 3027. The position of heir-apparent fell to Felix after his sister Janice contracted the Brisbane virus, a degenerative nerve disease with no known cure, and his older brother Ian abandoned the Concordat in 3042. (His oldest brother, Edward, was killed in a DropShip accident in 3034.)
Felix was a quiet young man who shunned the public spotlight. As the fourth child, Felix had never expected to assume the rulership of the Concordat, and had devoted most of his life to the study of science and navigation. He loved exploration and dreamed of leading an exploratory mission into uncharted space. Despite his distaste of governing, Felix bowed to his father's wishes and attempted to fill his elder siblings' shoes. However, he found it impossible to give up what Thomas termed his 'foolish schoolboy notions' of exploring deep space. In 3046, on a star mapping mission near the furthest reaches of the Concordat, Felix's JumpShip disappeared. Speculation runs rampant that he had left the Concordat to escape his duties.

An excerpt from Field Manual - Periphery, page 51:
Quote
The third heir was discovered after Jeffery's death. Richard Calderon, the son of Felix Calderon, was born on an outpost colony in the deep Periphery. Felix was thought lost during a star-mapping mission in 3046. The only sister of Magestrix Emma Centrella found Richard and prevailed upon him to return to the Concordat. Tragically, a pirate attack just short of Concordat space claimed the life of both Richard Calderon and Lorelei Centrella. Though foul play is not even remotely suspected, it still leaves a stain upon Protector Grover Shraplen that there may be other close relations to Jeffrey Calderon rightfully inline for the protectorship.

Sounds to me like "The Fox" Hanse Davion ordered this innocent man assassinated and has been running a disinformation campaign to keep the people of the Concordat off balance ever since. Shameful.
