The fact that he dodged it tells us everything we need to know. And to be honest, looking at the schedule they have planned for the rest of 2015, I'd be a bit suspicious if he said they would fix the skill tree in September. When you compare what they have planned to their previous work rate, it's a vast acceleration.

Maybe they can do it, who knows. But if they're going to fix the skill tree, I would like them to do it properly, not give us a rushed "placeholder skill tree" that lasts another 2.5 years. Frankly, I'm a bit terrified that they're going to make so many huge changes in such short amount of time. Especially the Mech Battlevalue thing.

Oh, and btw:
New Thunderbolt hero with 9 energy hardpoints. Keep the hardpoint inflation going, guys.

MWO needs more laser vomits!

Well does any long time player really expect huge changes to the game in the near future? Some may have faith and hope... sure...

* Looking at a complete top to bottom rebalance of all mechs in game. Will not be released in increments but all at once. Multiple PTS and wont be released until community is happy with it
* Call it a MWO Battlevalue System. Mobiility, Armor ,Weapons, Hardpoint Type and Location, ECM, Sensors etc will all contribute to BV value of mechs.
* Will increase in intel gather aspect of game for Intel Focused Mechs
* Not a direct translation from tabletop
* Hoping for a public test in Mid July
* Would like to see it live in 2nd patch August, probably will slip

i'm scared of it... such big changes rarely end well -_-

My thoughts:

Thanks to Zeece for the notes!

Good call IMO, looking forward to some sneeky base grabs

* A change is coming in July 7th for Class 1 Jumpjets. Bigger initial boost, more thrust but less available fuel. Going go a little higher and get there faster

Sounds like actual manouvability jump jets. Could be nice

The first part made me happy, the second part made me even happier.

Could be very interesting on maps where people use trees as visual cover

* Nothing new.. high probability that we are going to STEAM. Late Summer / Early Fall... Sept/October

so people will stop complaining that it'll never work on Steam around April or May??

* Neema has been focused on it for the last 2 weeks. Did optimization of mech movement code, optimization of network bandwith reduced traffic by 25%. Added the Bone Rewind mechanic on top of existing main mech position rewind. This will better account for torso twist and leg positions.
* Hoping to get them all in for July 7th
* Should work exceptionally well up to 400ms ping

Huzzah!!!

Some would say he is occasionally "out of touch".

It always begs the rhetorical question.. "do you play your own game?"

I saw Russ 1 Time in a Match since I started playing this Game. Nearly got him. Nearly ;)

PGI utilizes a different development model.

In the free to play genre game development is ongoing. You see it with World of Warships, War Thunder and other F2P games where features and additional content can take months to release. It isn't so much they lack programmers, its moreso they don't have a 2+ year initial development cycle prior to release.

Clan IIC mechs will function like IS mechs... but with Clan gear? Sounds legit, no way that could work out poorly.

Can I has 1/2 size Endo/Ferro on my IS mechs too pls? Also ClanXL engines? KTHX.

- They want more players to CW.

- But they don't want to make MM, even one that would balance the group sizes, because of low population.

Result: No new players join CW because of stomps.

The Thunderbolt hero is from lore and has 9 energy weapons. Why would the deflate the hardpoints? Good luck making good use of those without energy heat generation quirks. LOL

Well no players would join as a result of never getting matches either. Seriously why don't people get that there isn't enough people playing CW to make a matchmaker for it. Instead, work on your own skills and teamwork.

Seriously, I have a blast playing as a solo. Why, you ask? Because I don't have to worry about my ******* teammates taking damage from me. Even as a solo playing in a group of pugs against a 12 man, most of the time I will do over 2000 damage (and there are many others like me). Just imagine if the rest of the pugs could just get above 1000, even the typical handful that don't break out of double digits in damage throughout the entire match, if those people could get in the 1000 range, the pug team might actually win.

Still doesn't change the fact that he dodged the question entirely by talking about a completely irrelevant subject.

Yes I get that he wanted the IIC pack for last but he handled it poorly.

So so pissed off

* Neema has been focused on it for the last 2 weeks. Did optimization of mech movement code, optimization of network bandwith reduced traffic by 25%. Added the Bone Rewind mechanic on top of existing main mech position rewind. This will better account for torso twist and leg positions.
* Found bugs in the existing Rewind State when considering the difference in pilots of different pings.
* Hoping to get them all in for July 7th
* Should work exceptionally well up to 400ms ping

We've non stop said there were issues FOREVER, sure enough there's a GD bug!

Yeah, I already responded to this argument above. But hey, maybe they figured it was better to use a hero mech from lore for once, instead of inventing yet another hero mech from scratch. Which I think is ok. It's just a shame that they decided to do it with the most superfluous hero mech I've ever seen. It does exactly what people are doing with Thunderbolts already. It would be different if people actually used their missile launchers on Thunderbolts, or combined PPCs and lasers. But that's fairly rare these days.

Good for you. I don't enjoy stomps even if I'm on the side doing the stomping.

I know what you are saying. My point is that it is too late. MM should've been in CW from the start but now it's too late. Like they said, maybe in steam release if game gets huge influx of players who start playing it. But probably not.

I heard CW has 400-500 people playing it. CW has 10 factions, that makes 40-50 players per faction. CW is really dead, isn't it?

Only solution now is to try to make it more interesting but it won't probably attract new players unless it becomes REALLY interesting. If it was more interesting I might even consider joining a unit.

This is going offtopic but let me address your argument of "working on teamwork and skills". You won't be able to work on those with people you don't know.

Also, looking forward to the IIC's, I'll likely pick up some levels of it.

Also curious - Only the Jenner actually has enough in-timeline variants for the IIC's.
The Orion IIC never even had other variants, only the IIC proper.

Yeah but the 5SS will still be better at its job due to super quirks. The hero is going to get very week weapon quirks, probably like 5% energy range or something.

I don't enjoy stomps either, and those games I was referring to (high damage games) are still typically losses because I am too lazy to try to herd the cats. But I HAVE dropped into a match with one person in my unit and 10 pugs, and my unit mate was able to lead them to victory over VOIP.

You can exercise teamwork with people you don't know, most of the time I have found people listen because they recognize that the team needs to work together to win. Once in a while you get some yahoos who don't pay attention but that is player problems. I don't know, it just seems okay with me that if you really want to be successful in CW you have to work as a team. If you don't want to do that, then go play the solo queue in public matches, its that simple.

I would rather join a unit than trying to order bunch of randoms around. There's no point in playing CW.

True, although PPC's are useless when compared to lasers: more heat, same or less damage, slow flight time, and dead-zone close in. LRM's are also useless without strong teamwork thanks to ECM and Radar Derp being everywhere.

As for me, I'm NOT looking forward to this "rebalancing" of mech weapon hardpoints and locations. So, what exactly are the mechs I've bought going to turn into once we're done "fixing" them, and will this be as "balanced" and "well thought out" as the Quirks - you know, the ones that raised some mechs to god-tier while other mechs got total junk?
