Well to be honest this thread is to see what will the IS have to do to fight back, many people don't play clans partly as they are so expensive to buy 3 and some don't like the locked equipment ( on the non meta mechs, few can complain about the timbis sept the 15 mil part ) , these new mechs come with smaller, less expensive engines with upgrade and engine swiching potential , while using clan weapons and 2 slot dhs, so potentialy a lot cheaper so I can see a number of people swiching to them, it's almost like the mix tech most were adamant against.

There is no reason not to use the clan xl engine in all of them they will have a lot of tonnage for weapons and ammo, IS could do this too to a point ( low slot space due to 2x slots per upgrade ) if XL engines were a good option for most heavys and mediums but we know it's not for most of them , so many of those glass cannon IS builds will be not so glass cannon clan builds with more range.

As it stands IS will only have an advantage with ~50% quirks like the grid iron and thunderbolts and mostly in brawling range where large IS ballistics and short burn, cooler lasers and pulse lasers perform better , but we'r not exactly in a brawling meta right now, I guess we'll need to hope that PGI refreshes maps so they have at least one well covered rute to aproach, hopping from cover to cover.

Actually, i used to lose them even before the hitbox change.
Heck, i'd even lose the arms first! And on multiple occasions i'd end up without both arms without even losing my CT armor(And i run full armor on everything but the head).

Now, it's much more common for me to be taken out by the STs than my CT

Yeah I'm not a fan of the canary yellow, but other than that, I like how that looks. I wonder if that's a E hard point in it's mouth.

Looks like the sensors; due to the Legomech construction, a blank hardpoint is generally that square with an X on it.

That's why the Clan omnimechs need mod-able equipment. Then you could envision a working balance.

True, but they have a lot of IIc to burn through , Russ mentioned IIIc package , so I guess it will be a while till other second line mechs make it in.
BTW, when do we think they will advance the timeline to 3058 to at least give IS ermeds?

Yea,I did mention the kodiak to be the first non iic assault, and the thing is sure, there is A LOT of iic's... but the thing is...

Wolfhound iIC is a one of a kind hero mech so to say, 1 ever existed. It may be famous, but it was only ever piloted by 1 guy and only 1 existed and no variants.

Commando IIC is clan wolf restricted, and isn't that much of a cool mech, fancy, but not desperately needed.

and some other IIC's like the thunderbolt IIC is 3060 or 3070 timeline mechs...

And the rest are not considered exact IIC's like the Supernova, Behemoth, etc.

Don't get me wrong, but the regular clan battlemechs are plentiful and I would assume after IIC we will get some clan battlemechs =)

Oh and IS get the ER medium laser in 8 years.
