Implement an auction system to increase game balance. Replacing weight classes with slots of how popular a mech is could improve a number of things in the game such as
  • Shorter wait times
  • No longer negative nerf quirks on some clan mechs
  • No longer too high positive quirks on some IS mechs
  • More mechs being used in CW and normal queue
  • Mech selection now will require some skill

The outline is simply that Light, Medium, Heavy, Assault classes are replaced with classes Surplus, Balanced, Shortage, Limited .
A mech starts in the Limited category and if not frequently played will first be set to the Shortage category, then to the Balanced category and then to the Surplus category.
If a mech is currently in the Surplus category and is then frequently played it will be put into the Balanced category, then the Shortage category and then the Limited category.

Teams will then be allowed to have any number of Surplus category mechs but be limited to the number of Balanced, Shortage and Limited category mechs. It could possibly be restricted to 3 of each category or some other restriction for instance 4 from the Balanced category 2 from the shortage category and 1 from the Limited category.

Instead of facing competitive teams with 3xfirestarters, 3xstormcrows, 3xtimber wolfs, 3xdire wolfs we could see competitive teams of 2xIce Ferret, 5xSummoner, 2xExcecutioner, 3xVindicator

The above is intended for the normal queue, for CW a system with points could be used instead.
