Battletech mechs always looked crappy to me. And Timberwolf was like least favourite, 'cause it looks like a transport heli on legs... just not cool.

VF-1 is my favourite. Both beautiful and "realistic" in ways of portraying real fighter jets of that time turning into a mech.

The complaints were not about the length of the legs, but that the legs were not slender, as in that image. To each their own, as they say.

Especially one artwork I saw of it, couldn't find it again, where the armor is black but the "spaces" between the "plates" are red. That was an awesome look. I kind of hate what PGI did with their version of the Spider. It looses all of its cool, sleek menace (that, admittedly, it never really lived up to, but hey.)

And, of course, the BattleMaster. PGI's version, I think, is actually better than either the Unseen or Reseen version.
