I (shamefully, considering my line of work lol, should have known this!!) discovered this by accident on my PC the other day. Having HYPER-V installed will disable the turbo boost on your processor, and also the power management options for it Windows conitrol panel (max/min cycles etc).

I had noticed that my game was slightly less stable during periods of heavy action. I then noticed that my CPU was capped at it's stock speed and not "turboing". Read a little bit, as I had installed the Hyper-V role for some research. I removed Hyper-V, and bam, my turbo was working again.

And after, my FPS was more stable during "heavy mechage" lol (and the CPU was running at it's nice turbo'd speed while playing).

I dunno if this will help anyone but I thought I'd put it out there

Lol yes the much more boring Microsoft Hyper V

But you can install it in WIndows 8.1 as well. Sometimes people run VMs for w/e reason, I was using mine to do some study lab things

if you want to run a hypervisor on your gaming rig you can do it, just creat an alternate boot for no hypervisor when you want to game. . . http://blogs.msdn.co...boot-entry.aspx
