I was thinking have maybe 10% of planets with something like a 300 ton weight limit, and maybe 10% of planets with a 180 limit.

Or something like that.

It would be a pain in the ass for some, but I would welcome the variety.

Just to keep it interesting.

I agree. Variations in tonnage across different planets would mean a greater diversity of tactics and a greater spread of mechs on the battle field. Some planets could be heavy/assault brawls in the purest sense, while other planets could host light-medium battles, which are always interesting.

It would add a lot of variety to CW with very little work. Streakcrows (and even streak adders) would see a lot of use I think. Assault wars would be very interesting too.

A difference in tonnage between attack periods could be interesting. Would be a little bit of a pain having to readjust the drop deck everyday. Newer players would have a little bit harder time being properly prepared for CW as well.

Now that I think about it a 300 ton limit probably wouldn't change much. It would be:

Clan 4 Timberwolves

IS 2 Stalkers 2 Thunderbolts

Dropping tonnage might make for some interesting dropdecks though.

Sounds interesting.

Don´t make it dependend on Planets though - make it dependending on time fought for planet.

Example:
First 2 ours pretty light dropdeck.
Second 2 hours go heavier... and so on.
If the planet is held for a cycle.. start out heavy from start - to test it, we could start with only this option. Probably easier to implement.
