Hey all,
I still want to feel some love for my Heavy Metal... it's been dead to me for quite a while.
The new quirk pass has come and gone, and shifted things quite a bit for the silly beast.

Has anyone else found something inspirational that works for it? I personally still can't come up with something I love.

Something like THIS ? (At least to the weapons. Armor and Ammo adjust personally)

HM used to be my favorite mech, but that was primarily due to the JJ and the maneuverability, after they changed JJ, even with max JJ, to being hoverjets, I have difficulty loving it anymore...

From what I calculated is they are using the same base formula across the board, with the heavier the mech the fewer meters that can be jumped with the same amount of JJ as the next mech.

And yes, I did the "poptart" dance but usually for the first few minutes of the match. What I loved was the ability to jump over an atlas and land on its 6.

This one works quite well
HEAVY METAL
XL version
HEAVY METAL
I've also used two large pulse and a medium for slightly better heat efficiency on the standard engine build.

Was debating a brawling build but after putting a few together it just seems like other assaults are better suited for it. If only it had one more missile hardpoint.

I still run the old 3xll 2xac5 build and stick to midrange.

being an assault mech, first rule would be to avoid those XL engines, since they are the biggest and most of the time favorite targets for focus fire from the other team. What about your own play style, are you more of a brawler, support or maybe the hit and run type? ( which may be difficult to do in a assault Mech ) like everyone is is my grain of salt.

its a brawler type build, hope you like it

I've made a personnal improve of your build :
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...5c3dbde2eef7b4d

Remove the useless STD 305, replace by STD 300 (save 1.5 tons), remove the BAP, useless on this build (save 1.5 tons). Dunp one ton of SRMs ammos (save 1 ton). Remove one JJ, if you don't take 5xJJ, just put one in it, cause with two of them you loose two tons but gain nothing (save 2 tons). It will feel the same while jumping.

Finally, replace the LB10X by 2xAC/5 for better DPS and here you go ;)
