You only have 4 slots to start with

you can't do anything with those slots until you purchase mechs and put them in there

Your first 25 matches you get a cadet bonus. It's a flat boost of C-Bills that can total up to 9 - 12 Mil C-Bills. Also, I'd recommend activating your free day of premium time to help increase it even more.

Once you get your money, you can then purrchase mechs from either the store page or by going to mech lab and then while viewing your mechs click ont eh top left filter that says "available" and switch it to "purchasable"

Did you purchase two additional mech bays?

Trial mechs do not actually fill a mech bay slot; everyone has 4 trial mechs available and when you start the game you have four empty mech bays.

When you purchase a mech (either by going to the Store tab or by going to mechlab and changing the pulldown from "owned" to "purchasable") it will automatically place that mech into one of your empty slots. You cannot 'select' an empty slot.

Mechbays are active already

they are empty though. What do you think they do? They are just slots for holding mechs you purchase. Each mechbay is an open place where you can put a mech you purchase.

You can purchase mechs with C-Bills, and with MC. However, I would recommend you don't spend MC on mechs that aren't champion or Hero variants.

The difference is that Hero mechs have unique hardpoints and also come with a permanent 30% C-Bill boost. While Champion mechs are just customized variants of existing mechs and have a 10% XP boost.

the 25 games are just your cadet start. Your mechbays are already active.

Basically if you are using all your mechbays you can't purchase another mech without selling a mech you own or buying a new mechbay.

EDIT: Trial mechs have their own independent mechbays that are outside your control, so they don't take up nay of your mechbays.

You can purchase mechs with only C-bills (the Hero mechs and Champion mechs are MC only, but regular mechs are available for either MC or C-bills) you do not have to play the 25 matches in order to buy.

Mechs are, however, expensive, and if you have not finished your 25 matches you may not be able to afford the mech you want. Don't rush into it and risk wasting your c-bills.

Click on the link in Redshift's signature by the way. That's how you activate your free premium day.

Also, check this website out. It's a nice way to design mech builds and tweak them before you actually buy the stuff in the game.

In the old UI, you could see the empty mech bays.
However, they seem to be invisible in the new UI.
You just have to take their word that they are there...

I can't remember exactly where off the top of my head, but if you look to the left of the screen about halfway down I think there is a line that reads "empty mech bays" and then a number. Of course I could be making all that up. One tip, save all of your c-bills until you complete your cadet bonus, don't buy the first mech you can afford, play a while and see what style of play you like.

After you click on "mechlab" tab your free mechbays appears above the "buy mechbay" button (bottom left). That's the only way to tell if you have free mechbays. The rest are under "owned" sub-tab.

Add double heatsinks, endo steel.

Beyond that, what mech and variant was it? Depending on how you like to play we might be able to help you either survive or take the fight back to them.

I second Redshift's statement. Most of us have been playing this game for a long time now, and have been on these forums killing time when not killing mechs. We would be happy to help you.
