First off, let's face it, barring a miracle, MW:Os servers will have been shut down a long time before we are likely to get to Fortress Republic. So this is mostly a "blue sky", if only, post.

Secondly, I am an admitted 3025, Succession War guy, who prefers to pretend anything post FedCom Civil War didn't happen (and even a lot of that era was .....meh), despite having been a MW:DA Event Ref.

That said, powercreep and all, there were some designs, some technologies that were pretty cool. Actually the TRO 3145 is very interesting, IMO.

For me? Hands down it's the LAMENT.

What do you get if you blend the DNA of a Black Knight, Warhammer and Thunderbolt (and maybe a dash of Thanatos), fertilize it was the best tech available?

This baby:

The basic model is simple but vicious. But the 3C and 4RC? Oh baby. Made a TT "Lament IIC"
drop the xl gyro and Radical Heatsink System for Clan Endo and Ferro, XL325, 3 clan tech erppcs, 23 DHS, ECM and IS TSM. Has to disable a few DHS or run and alpha several turns in a row to engage the TSM, but at that point it's a 97 kph clan tech AWS-9M, with ECM.
Spoiler

My runner up? The perfect assault mech:

(yes, I like PPCs)

Howabout you? Please feel free to post mech pron, too!

Dark Age Mechs means new guns. Such as Heavy PPCs, RACs, HAGs, Plasma Rifles, new tech like Radical Heatsink Systems, etc.

Besides the obvious lack of variants the main thing is how PGI would introduce the new game mechanics in a way meaningful to MWO.

What is the downside to mechs that have small cockpits? What advantage are heavy duty gyros that can be used in MWO?

How would mechs like the Gotterdamerung work with a giant missile harpdoint where the head is? If the launcher was hittable the ability to aim would be a big problem for a body segment that only has a max of eighteen armor normally.

Back to you original question I would like to see:

Vulture Mk IV
Mad Cat Mk. IV
Hound
Gotterdamerung
Tian-Zong

My three favorite MWDA mechs were the Davion Vulture unique, the Davion Cyclops unique, and the Swordsworn Legionaire unique.

Of those, the Cyclops is the most likely to appear any time soon.

^ A lot of the new weapon tech is Jihad era, you don't need to wait for the Dark Age.

What is the downside to mechs that have small cockpits?
-Think Locust meets Shadowhawk, cramped with horrible visibility

What advantage are heavy duty gyros that can be used in MWO?
- Would probably have to change their basic use, like they have other systems, would probably negate all screen shake from enemy fire, were I doing them. Or significantly reduce it and allow it to stack with improved gyro module to completely negate.

How would mechs like the Gotterdamerung work with a giant missile harpdoint where the head is? If the launcher was hittable the ability to aim would be a big problem for a body segment that only has a max of eighteen armor normally.
-Would probably still follow the current trend...95% of the head is counted as CT. Since you can't crit the weapon by shooting at it anyhow, would leave the physical model as CT, and the crits would go as per norm, now.

Well I don't really know much about the Dark Age stuff, but I would love to have a Thunderbolt IIC which won't be available until 3085. Has some new toys to play with, and looks good visually in my humble opinion.

This is just my personal opinion, but the "Dark Age" era should never have existed, and the only reason it did was because of the Fed-Com Civil War completely turning the IS on its head, leading to the dissolution of the reborn Star League.

Heaven Forbid we ever get that far in MWO, but if we do, that's the day I uninstall the game.

Gyrfalcon. I want my 5/8/7 with partial wing and MASC. I'd probably take off the ac2 for a bigger engine.

That, or a Tenshi would be my preferred mech.

What I want so that I can have the summoner I want without having to change current MWO construction rules is a Thor II. Off the top of my head, it had endo, not crap armor, and more importantly, configurations without JJs exist so I can choose how many I want.
