I want mechs which add something new to the roster other than looking different. I'm aware how hard that is but the last Resistance Pack was already incredibly redundant as I don't see how these mechs should add anything new to the table.

Maybe it's time for some new weapons and tech?

Falconer adds something new! Its perfect!

The Bandersnatch could be an option, ballistics in both arms, ecm & jj

Then it's the Falconer you want.

Sadly, the chances of it making into the game a very slim.
Not enough variants to fulfill the "3 variants to master" bullcrap, and i don't think PGI will bother making 2 extra variants for it.

Didn't they do that for the Mauler?

I'm a huge fan of Quadrupedal 'mechs (my all-time favorite mech is the 55ton Scorpion), but i don't think we'll ever see them in MW:O.

They'd require a completely different movement system (no torso twist, lateral movement, etc) and also would look completely terrible without re-implementing Inverse Kinematics (which was removed, a long time ago)

Huh. I didn't think about that. I guess, they could.

They already have a lot of mechs that are favoured by the states directly fighting the Clans, I'd like some from the rearguard states, especially Marik ;)

Pgi has a clanner pack lined up, it makes sense that the pack after that will be IS. We need IS mechs that'll compete with clan mechs.

Without huge amounts of quirks

Sticking strictly with 'Mechs no later than 3052, even though 3053 seems to be a minor advancement year and 3055 seems to be a major one:

Light: Talon (alternatively, Night Hawk, though it only has two variants)

Medium: Lynx

Heavy: Champion

Assault: Night Star

Russ said they want to keep it IS vs. Clans for a while longer when somebody asked about IS Omnis in the most recent Town Hall, so those are not on the table. But, for when they are, I want:

Light: Raptor

Medium: Blackjack

Heavy: Avatar

Assault: Sunder

No Raptor, no sale on the pack, though.

We need two packs:

FedCom Pack -
Javelin
Bushwacker
Penetrator
Devastator

ComGuard Pack -
Mongoose
Wyvern
Exterminator
Shootist

Plus maybe a Resistance III Pack -
Falcon
Assassin
Bandersnatch
Cyclops

General FWL mech list, some are out of timeline though.

A FWL mech that'd be a great addition would be the Anvil, 60t ecm, JJ, high mounted laser boat with missile variant.

Ah...

*put on stab-proof body armor*

It's the same deal with art of the Atlas having two lines of 10 LRMs on each side torso or the Stone Rhino's Small Laser of Doooom. Things are improving for TT, but its why art is the lowest form of canon for the pen and paper universe.

I disagree here IS has so many choices it's time to beef up the clan roster.

We have a lot of IS 'Mechs that can compete already. It's not the 'Mechs that are lacking, though, it's the equipment.

IS mechs are basically dead to me.

Look at the crap in the Res pack 1 & 2 vs. the Clan Wave 3 and Clan Origins pack.

There is zero reason to invest in IS for me.

So which IS mechs are comparable to the Twolf, SC, HBR and Ebon? Without quirks the Tbolt would just be ok. It's more than equipment, it's hard points and weapon location. We're still waiting for the AC & Scat (no pun intended), both of which will be strong mechs. Pgi just announced another 4 clan mechs (battlemechs no less) and you want another pack after those? You already have the best mechs, even after being nerfed.
