My thoughts exactly!
As much as I hear people hate on Viridian Bog, it's one of my favorite maps in the game. It's so fun to run around it in light mechs, and has so much opportunity for cover. This new River City looks like it may rise to the top of my favorites list...

Not enought bearded guys with table top social lives, working in cubicles, who actually care about battletech details.
Yuppies working in an open concept office who clearly spend time at the gym, going out and talking to normal people about sports and the weather is clearly detrimental to the battletech IP.

So stoked for weather effect. Hope they are dramatics and dynamics like in Battlefield4. I also hope not all effect happen from start to finish but are triggered or random. Raging storm or sandstorm that blinds are awesome when they affect only a part of the match and not the whole thing and i loved them in BF4. They completely change how you are playing mid match. And they are nice to look at if you ever get time to catch your breath.
Player triggered event also comes to mind here, destroy those big reactor(are they reactor at all?) on river city and anyone standing close would now have much higher heat to deal with.

As far as the pipe-dream of burnable trees . . . I look forward to seeing it become reality one day. I would love to be able to actually run my scorched earth Firestarter tactics in MWO someday.
Russ wasn't kidding about delaying the map remake release of River City to really set a new bar for map standards . . . and quite a high bar at that. All the potential and all the technology that has been improved upon will make the maps truly incredible, as they're updated. From Dynamic and random weather to actual passage of time to much more densely populated maps to drastically improved details and more efficient rendering on top of it all! It's looking amazing! Thank you for putting all the time and effort into making it possible.
Also, Viona, you're not alone. I LOVE Terra Therma. It's one of my favorite maps to play on.

DEV VLOG #12
Tina (Community Manager) sits down with Viona (Environmental Artist) and Ryan (Technical Artist) and discusses the new River City improvements, destructible trees and more!
Are we ever going to get Stinger, Wasp, Phoenixhawk, Rifleman, Warhammer, Crusader, Madmauder, and the Longbow. Harmonygold does not posses the rights to these images only the right to produce Macross in the US from the owner Takanoma. The only thing these battlemechs share with Macross mecha are the skins. Macross mecha are for superior. A Warhammer is not a Tomahawk. And Harmonygold thinks their lossing money I spent 400$ on the Robotech Tactics Kickstarter to have Tomahawks.

Viona seems very cool and Ryan did an excellent job of explaining stuff and being viewer-friendly. Next episode, get Ryan to explain more stuff and ask Viona which is her favourite child (she's hiding something).
