Clan UAC. I'm ok with the new clan UAC's. I kinda miss the extra rounds in the burst. However, I will get over it and adapt to the new burst rate. The one thing that I have never been able to stomach is the jamming. I don't like using the IS UAC5 for the same reason. I use them but I usualy have a regular AC paired with it as a back up if it jams. You can't really do that with C-AC because the IS counterparts have ballistics quirks+modules that grant a 12-30% cool down for AC. You just can't compete with that using C-AC. So in a way we are being forced to use a weapon system that handycaps the mech. Nothing more irritating then rounding a corner, facing off to 3 mechs and your first volley of UAC is your last for the next 30 seconds (or however long the jam lock is).

Another thing. Why are clan AC as heavy as the UAC? Why are the LBX the same weight as the AC's and UAC? Wouldn't fewer barrels and moving parts mean less weight? I don't get the lack of options and blatant disregard for these weapons in the clan arsenal.

I use both types of mechs (clan and IS). I would like to be able to use clan AC as effectively as or close to IS AC. Is this an out of line request?

What does the community think? If the clans had cool down modules for AC's. Would it make them OP? How many players would like to see clan AC get used more often?

Because they're not really AC's. They're LBX's with slugs in disguise.

This isn't a joke. There's no such think as a "Clan Autocannon" - they're all ultra autocannons and LB-X's (and later other types). The "AC"'s where put in as a placeholder for multiple ammo types, which never happened.

They have no real purpose either, as if you just hold the fire key down rather than tapping it, your UAC's won't jam. They DO have slightly different stats from the UAC's (the cAC10 for example is actually substantially cooler than a cUAC10) but this pretty much never makes them better to use.

Hmmm... Well, I feel dumb now. I thought they were were regular auto cannons.

Another thing: The removal of projectiles in the UAC burst was a buff, not a nerf.

Edit: The only thing wrong with CAC is that it shouldn't exist. LBX should have switchable ammo types as the previous posters said, but that has so far been to difficult for PGI to implement, and at this point I think they've given up on it.

I never said it was a nerf. I said I miss the extra rounds. I liked the dakka dakka dakka dakka sound. Now there is one less dakka.

What you really want, is for them to finally introduce LBX slugs to the game so we can do away with those stand in Clan ACs...

As long as Clan ACs are 1-2 tons lighter than IS ACs, and occupies less slots, AND has greater range, you bet your ass that Clan ACs should stay inferior in performance than IS ACs. Gotta balance it somehow.

Clan Gauss by all means should have inferior performance too.

The only other way is to implement 10 vs. 12, but it will never work.
