I think Pgi should add a feature to the mechlab. We shouldn't have to "select" a mech and manually take it's engine or modules off. There should be a "swap" option.
Basically, you choose one mech, select "Swap Engine" or "Swap Module/s", select the mech you want to put em on, confirm it and done.
Good idea?

No.
There are way too many possibilities of configuring a mech. The option to swap an engine sure might help those that do not have the money to equip every mech completely especially regarding xl reactors, but the effort to establish this would be too big for the amount of players over time possibly using it.
Swapping Modules looks the same to me: you can autorefill consumables, weapon modules would be too specific for a general swap option and the mech modules alone are not "important" enough to take the effort. And if you would have to select the modules you want to swap, you can change them by hand as well.

I'd say it is worth it, currently you have to load in a mech, take the modules off, load up the mech you want them on and put everything on. It gets tedious and time consuming. Those are things you don't want players feeling in your game. A swap feature would make things more convenient. I doubt it would be a huge thing to do, but it would save players time.

Considering the number of ppl who disliked the new mechlab, I thought there'd be more interest in this idea.

I think they dislike it because of all the drop down menus and being cluttered to one side of the screen. A mechlab more akin to Smurfy would probably be infinitely more popular and user friendly.
