was Data Mining in MW3:PM and happened across this,

Imagine a Nova with 6MG per arm,
3SSRM4 CT&STs, and HD Mounted ECM,
sound awesome doesnt it? well it is!

Nova-G/K(3053)
Built this in Smurphy's,
Posted Image
(This)as it appeared in the MW3;PM Files

So i have some Questions,
1) does Anyone know if this is from a True BattleTech Source?
(as in one of the TRO books or perhaps within Any of the BT Novels?)
2) if this is only a MW3:PM than would it still be Cannon?
(as MW is still in the BattleTech Universe? and its story is considered Canon?)

Thoughts, Comments, Concerns?
Thanks

Impossible in TT because of the ST JJs; it only has 5 walking movement points (which normal JJs get assigned from) and the 5 JJs are already at max with the hardwired ones.

Nova-U is the closest match, with ECM and 8 MGs (4 per torso) but that's in the 3080s.

The Nova-G in the UK (maybe?) is a 6 MPL, 15DHS build with a TC.

MW3 wasn't totally true lore either, as Targeting Comps were always 1 ton (but had awesome utility, telling you where to aim to get your headshots - despite that barely ever working in multiplayer) and 1 ton Artemis worked on everything it was attached to (it didn't hold to the rules used in MWO).

So, I wouldn't try to take MW3 as gospel either, despite using a lot of TT values IIRC.

@Mcgral18
your right i had the Picture Wrong, :),

i was reading the Files Wrong, it only has 5JJ as all Novas do,
but ya the Type was labled Nova-G/K so perhaps its a NVA-G or a NVA-K,

http://www.solaris7....Info.asp?ID=623
pretty sure this covers all the canon Nova configs

technically there is an I,T and U, but I believe those are 3085 and 3145 era models. The I and T don't even have an official intro date and CGL
http://www.masteruni...ilter?Name=nova

But ATM, only the Prime, A, B, C, D & S are available, with the E coming online in 3054. So technically, they could give us the D, but aside from a missile RA, not a lot to see there.

after the NVA-E in 3054,
their is the NVA-H in 3059,
then the NVA-F in 3068,
and the NVA-U in 3077,

so could the NVA-K or G,
be considered Cannon if its only source is MW3:PM?
ether Way should it be added for what it brings to the NVA?
Most Future NVAs(other than the NVA-U) wouldnt add much to MWO,

Video Games are specifically non.canon.

and I am aware of those other dates...I linked them to you. But 3059, 68 and 77 are some ways off, yes?

As for the G/K, IDK. But since PGI has opened Pandora's Box with several made up variants (we could not have the enforcer without) I don't see why they could not design one.

Let's see...

6B arm + 6B arm + 2B side torso + 2B side torso = 16 total Machine Guns.

My body might not be ready for that.

Not out of the question as the SHC-P is a variant PGI came up with.

The P was simply a re-engineered J variant, that swaps AP Gauss rifles for MGs (same tonnage).

No Omnis are new as of yet.

Meh... would still like to see those missile hardpoints on the nova.
WOuld give it a bit more variety other than laser vomit or PPC.

You'll get a second one eventually (an arm) but that's it until they make a new robot.

technically, that does make it new, even if it's a retread.

1) This variant has never been canon.
2) Computer games have never been canon. CGL says that events happening in computer games might have happened in canon timeline (but they probably played out differently) unless contradicted by canon materials, but real canon stuff is only what CGL either publishes on its own, or cherrypicks from computer games and then publishes.

Dirty jokes aside, it's already here. They just need to flip the switch (i.e., add an XML entry for it? :P)

I'm pretty sure that MWO has an arbitrary limit on the maximum number of weapons you can equip though, and 16 is above that. Sadly. :[

16 is that number. 17 is the no go, and AMS count as weapons.
