Know anything about its hard points?

3E 1B 2M (or 3?M) was what Russ said in the townhall, and 9E for the Thud.

Rubbish and borderline in all likelihood.

(But they both look cool)

I believe it has 1B and 2-3E in the arm and missiles in the torso per the Town Hall.
so it's basically a (ignoring quirks) slight upgrade to the 6R? I can live with that.

I don't think you put enough lasers in that Thunderbolt.

Ill agree, TopDog is a very boring name, it seems to match the pattern/camo(BORING).

Hero mech are about 3 things, how cool they look, a different and interesting loadout, a great name/history.

9 energy point aint bad, considering all the Thud variant had diverse and interesting hardpoint(that no one use because hard), the 9nrg makes sense.

My only problem with the heroes is that the camos don't look very intresting.
They both look unimaginative.

The Wolverine has basically the same "quarantine" camo of the special variant urbie. Are they supposed to be related?
The Top Dog (what kind of name is that anyway?) has the same "mech with pants" style of the Grid Iron.
I love all my heroes because they look unique.
These two might be strong on the battlefield or not, but don't look particularly cool IMO.

Edit: new River City looks super cool, though, and... OMG destructible stuff and collision effects! Finally! :D

Feels like an awkward compromise between the 6K and 6R to me.

not really. The 6R, Dual ac5 quirk milking aside, isn't really able to capitalize on its second ballistic hard point. This maintains the missile racks, and trades that useless ballistic hard point for much more usable energy hard points.

More flexible build options as a result.

With that said, quirks are a thing, and I can't see this supplanting either quirked Wolverine.

That's kindof my point. Absent quirks, the 6R is rubbish. Bluntly, a single ballistic that's not a gauss or 20 is pretty underwhelming. Two quirked 5s makes the 6R work. This is just going to be a kitchen sink mech and not really great at anything unless there's some surprise in the quirks.

and this is why I hate quirks more and more all the time.

Top Dog? Wasn't it supposed to be TallMan?

IKR? I thought I was going crazy when I saw the hardpoints, and thinking "That's Tallman. Why are they calling it TopDog?"

So PGI, Why in Victor Steiner-Davion's name did you change the name of this hero mech?

For me, it's why I hate weapon over-quirks. Quirks are awesome. It's when weapon specific ones are overdone to an extreme degree.

They stuck to the letter with the canon build on this one Tallman

Steiner-Davion?
Wasn't Tallman part of the Draconis Combine?

I know, but I'm Davion. If I am angry, I use the name of my liege lord. XD

For the record, I don't really disagree with that.

Regarding the TBolt, so far they've avoided actually using character names for the hero names - if we were sticking to canon, Protector should just be ON1-K Kerensky. As someone pointed out above, the TDR-5S Tallman is also named after it's pilot.

That being said, Top Dog is a pretty unimaginative name.

Well the Wolverine camo and build doesn't look so bad, but OMG the Thud not only is it an utterly dull build in that you can have lasers or lasers with your spam, but it looks like someone was sick over it while eating a boiled sweet

Both of the new heroes have ugly default paint schemes and underwhelming names. At least the Tallmann is canon. Pity we didn't get Salome Ward's Wolverine.

Do we have any specs for Salome's Wolverine?

Maybe because Tallman is the surname of the pilot (Mary Tallman), not exactly the name of the mech.

No, the Bremond Draconis March Militia is actually from the Federated Suns (Davion), the same for the Capellan March.
Yeah, that's confusing (blame the Fedrats).
