Thing is..the Awesome doesn't have terrible scaling. The scale ain't bad.

It has bad geometry and proportions, and thus, hitboxes.

I think one huge issue with the rescaling polls is too many people are confusing the two things. Rescaling a mech, or the need to rescale or even redesign individual components of a mech.

If geometry and scaling are distinct from each other and the scaling is actually fine on the Awesome, then what exactly would be done to fix it without (significantly) changing the scaling?

one would have to either selectively rescale individual components (STs, for instance) or redesign the offending geometry entirely. The fact that Alex's concept art was husky to begin with (befitting the lore nature of the AWS) and then put on the Usual PGI spare tire, is the issue, not ti's height or even "total" width. It's the fact that the torsos make such a huge box to shoot at.

Just like the Dragon needs a Nose Job.... but the problem is, do that, and it might not be a Dragon anymore.

Doesn't that mean changing the scaling because it's bad though? I didn't think that "rescaling a mech" exclusively meant shrinking or increasing the size of the entire mech by a certain amount.

I voted for the SHD (and others) because I think most of the mediums in the game are too large. Same reasoning behind my voting for the Catapult and Awesome too. IMHO the HBK and VND are the "golden rule" for medium mech scale.

I think you should open the Mechlab and actually compare the Vindicator to some other 'Mechs. Not in-game. In the Mechlab. It is in no imaginable way the "right" size.

I pulled my vote for rescaling the Shadowhawk. It need the height along with the high hardpoints to compensate for its shortcomings. Its under quirked in comparison to lets say, the Stormcrow and other mediums.
